Count your blessings tonight. Over 200 homes have burned in the San Bernardino brush fires here in SoCal and sadly that number will probably rise. The humble and wealthy alike are equal in the wrath of these fire storms. What's worse is again it looks to be arson. Why anyone would derive pleasure by destroying so many innocent lives is beyond comprehension. In my neighboring city the sun was blocked out for most of the day by the billowing smoke. The white flakes of ash float in the air and there is no escaping the acrid smell of the incineration.
All of our science, all of our technologies and we still find ourselves humbled when our oldest friend and servant breaks from of its leash and becomes our worst enemy.

My heart goes out to the victims of this.  If it is arson hopefully the will catch the person or persons responsable.

It is sad!!! And I hope all will be well with you Freedom Rider, (I have my very good reasons for wishing you well, lol) but I also fail to see what possible pleasure someone could derive from making others so unhappy! Hugs Dana

your text was almost poetic in its phrasing.

History is unfortunately full of people destroying innocent lives.  This is what makes love and true caring so special.

Addendum on Sunday morning...the otherworldly pall of smoke over San Diego this morning is spooky, tragic, and beautiful at the same time.  It is snowing in October, and the animals are silent, thinking that the darkness of the sky is indicative of a storm.

I read that the San Diego fire was started by a hunter near Julien setting off a flare.  The poor thing was lost.  Too bad he didn't die in the fire.  At least then the pathetic little bastard would have qualified for a Darwin award.

Those who know me know that I'm not usually this vidictive.  But there's a limit to everything.

I could't agree with you more Dionsis(sp). That idiot should have perished. I love " the poor thing was lost" comment. I am laughing again as I write this.,
Good luck in LA.

oh my...even though I am so facinated by fire, I feel for everyone there. You home is your home. You have all your worldly possessions inside of it (valuable or not). I just hope, that people were able to get out and not get hurt.

Also, WTF, why do people have to destroy things like that??
