but does she have any political experience? I am a fan of Arianna's as well, ever since "Pigs At The Trough"...her Detroit Project is one of the more necessary efforts I can think of at the moment. However, I question her credentials to function politically with an already divisive legislature and take over a the world's sixth largest economy in the state it is in at the moment. Clint Eastwood may have worked for a small town like Carmel, or Sonny Bono for Palm Springs (don't even get me started on the concept of Schwarzenegger...or Gary Coleman, ROFLMFWAO... I can see it now..."What you talkin' 'bout, Mr. Speaker?"), but as Jesse "The Body" Ventura proved for Minnesota, a state is harder to run. MN is running much better without him and with their current Repub governor.
Of course, if it is Arianna against Darrell "GOPuppet" Issa, I would vote for Ms. H bigtime. However, I personally think in spite of what everyone says about the real Slim "Shady", Gray "Dealmaker" Davis, the majority will vote to keep him in office, as this whole recall thing is (Davis' sleaze factor aside) a bit of scapegoating. I may be wrong, and if I am, it is a pity that one of the better potential Repub candidates, Richard Riordan (okay, no comments from all you Angelinos who hated him...lol...at least he can form a consensus) is going to stay out of the race because his friend Ah-nold is running. Crimeny...that just is too funny... "Hasta la Veto, baby!".
Hey, speaking of Ms. H, are you on her mailing list, and did you get the invitation to go to her candidacy announcement tomorrow in LA? PM me if you didn't get the message and want it. Also, are you going to see Bill Maher in October? I have tix to see him in October here in San Diego...three days before I see Michael Moore at the same venue.
Oh, I just can't wait to see the boos I get for this one!
They are both running for office in Cali for the Gov's Mansion. Is this correct? A friend of mine called me tonight, and I couldn't really understand her too much, for she was laughing hysterically lol
Mel
I believe she was laughing about Gary Coleman entering, or possibly had too much laughing gas (she got her tooth pulled today lol)

with Dana Plato, Todd Bridges, he was also, was charged with aggravated assault on this lady, when she asked him for an autograph (not sure if that is the correct story on this).

He is going to run, in addition to a blond stripper with breasts almost as large as yours Mel...
She's bright, funny, and like me, adores Bill Maher. What more could a CA resident want?

Yes, Pigs at the Trough is a wonderful book. I enjoyed every single page of it. Personally, I don't think Davis should be recalled, but if he must, Ariana is my first choice. My opinion doesn't matter anyway. I'm not even a resident of CA. I live 2,400 miles away.
LOL....it's very funny that you mention seeing Bill Maher in San Diego. I'm going to a taping of Real Time this Friday, ALONE. My SO is tired of my infatuation with Bill, and says he won't be a part of it. Coincidentally, San Diego is my second home. I'm there all the time. I may just have sneak out of the house to go see Michael Moore and Bill Maher with you![]()
I just had to do that...one fetishist to another. :P
General admission tickets for both performances go on sale 8/24, so PM me if you really have interest and want to be in SD in late October.
God I hate that MF'er (I'm from CA). Unfortunately, the Terminator could be a newer version ????
She's a friggin' joke. She loves those socialist TV ads. Yeah, she was the one who put out the TV ad that claimed if you drive an SUV, you're supporting terrorism. God help us if she gets in office.
Issa's claim to fame was bankrolling the recall, but I don't think he'll make it.
I'm really interested in McClintock because the problems in the state are financial and McClintock has already come forward with three things he plans on accompolishing: Repeal the increased VLF, Recall the legislature to force a cut in Workers Comp requirements, and use the line item on the budget to kill excessive spending. He's also promoting a budget commission to review government agencies for waste (like the defense closure committe in congress). The idea is good, not too sure about the effectiveness though.
As for that imbecile Davis, he's incompetent. How could he not recognize that the state budget deficit was going to be so bad? Lemme see.....he claimed it would be 10 billion, and then it turned into 38 billion.......either he was outright BS'ing everyone (it WAS an election year), or he had no clue=incompetence (especially since the budget was hammered during the campaign). Either way, he needs to GO. But his recent approval of a bill to provide illegal (excuse me "undocumented") aliens with Ca. driver's licenses probably was his "concern" for the welfare of the state. You Dufuss, wouldn't have anything to do with the "Motor Voter" registration program you initiated would it? Apparently he "saw the light", since he vetoed two previous attempts to do exactly the same thing. And, of course, his approval of the license bill was NOT motivated by the recent opinion study that claimed he could survive the recall if he got a SIGNIFICANT support from the Hispanic community....Naaaawwwwwww..
Davis has a 20% approval rating in the state and approx. 30% of the recall petitions were signed by Democrats. Handicapped/fixed income people are reporting vehicle license renewal fees that went from $75 to $200+. One woman lives on disability of $657 a month. She was one of the $200 renewals. Sure she can pay it, if she doesn't eat or buy medication. Thanks to our "caring" Democrat governor.
You're 100% correct. Arianna Huffingtom is smart, has original ideas, and is not a "follow the crowd" type of person. I'd vote for her in a NY minute.
I'm rooting for the San Andreas Fault. I'm heavily invested in beach front property in Western Utah.
is for it to drift off and join the Hawaiian Islands!
about this hobby ever getting legalized then you're going to need to get some BALLS and vote for him. Also (according to CNN and other sources) he has the most support after Arnold S!
A heck of alot more people die every year in accidents in ice and snow, hitting trees etc..than die in earthquakes. When the earthquake is over, it's still a nice day outside ![]()
