It's obvious many of us guys (and you too lopaw) become addicted to the hunt itself -- finding variety, or especially in the hunt for the next sugar baby.    But also obviously providers and sugar babies are beating the bushes for their next client ... is there a thrill in that act alone that becomes addictive?

I'm not referring to the resulting meeting and all things about that... just the hunt part, excited about securing the next prospect.

You may not have intended it this way, but "beating the bushes" seems to denote desperation or a very intent search and I personally do not regard my advertising that way.  :-)

Anyway, to answer your question: Is posting and writing my ads addictive?   No, not for me.  It's a part of the business, just something that has to be done, nothing more.

The one aspect of advertising which I really enjoy and spend far too much time doing comes when I need new photos.  I will spend countless hours looking at hotel websites trying to decide where to get them done.  Then comes the shopping for outfits to wear in the shoot..... once I've picked the clothing,  just finding the right shoes can easily consume several days' worth of time!  ;-)

I decide in advance what outfit to wear in which area of the location, which shoes with each ensemble, any accompanying jewelry, and of course how I'm going to wear my hair, nails, etc etc.     I wouldn't say I'm addicted to this process, but do LIKE going to that effort, and enjoy the time spent.

Just me.  Shit, if it was the hunt that gave me a thrill, I wouldn't be a serial repeater. So far, I don't need more thrill than what I get from the anticipation of the known pleasures that the wonderful heauxs that I frequent provide.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a male slut , but I am having so much fun developing the different pleasures with the different women who learn what excites me and as learn what pleasures them. Each of the women I see are so very different. From vanilla to some great BDSM (sub and dom) and all stops in between.

At the moment, more hunting would just mean I would miss out on what  and who I already enjoy.

To each his and her own.

Have fun.

Just as a bit of word play, "beating the bushes" as an idiom comes from the act of hunters making a lot of noise etc to scare prey into revealing themselves -- take flight for instance if birds.   It's active, not desperate.

As an idiom it just refers to any pro-action on the part of discovering leads -- advertising would fall under that.  So would board posting, emails and pm, twitter updates, etc.

It means an intensive search, far and wide.

I'm not out there hunting for new clients; my advertising is passive.  THEY come to ME.  ;-)

"Beating the bushes" is a perfectly acceptable colloquialism for prospecting activities, whether you're prospecting as a buyer or seller, but its a phrase most often used by sellers/salesmen.

I was always on the prowl, and enjoyed seeking out and meeting new providers.

However, now I've got a bevvy of lovely providers that I see in rotation, and am liking that just fine.

Not only that, but every now and then a blast from the past will return, and that alone can be pretty exciting.

disposable razor in my car, so when I am all of a sudden unexpectedly confronted by sasquatch (civvie OR provider), I pull it out and say, "Do you want to do this or do you want me to TRY?"  I don't know why, but they always elect to do it themselves.

... finding a few ladies who give me what I need so that it quenches the thirst. But it never does. Once the hunt is over I tend to lose interest and it's on to the next hunt. Perhaps this explains my profound  interest in stripclubs and MP's. TheIr very nature feeds the restless hunters among us.

(btw- thanks for the inclusion,  souls_harbor ;) )

to go "hunting" with you, but it would have to be a place where there are girls that like both tacos and hot dogs.  Not necessarily the SAME girls, but a good selection of each.

This hobby is like hunting at a petting zoo. Not much of a challenge when all you really need is the price of admission. Besides that, I've come to realize that I'm just too pussy whipped by my ATF to really care that much about "hunting."

Now to your OP about providers - I opine that they are more baiters and trappers than pure hunters. Clever ads, seductive photos, teasing quips on local boards, etc...

The only problem with her, even more so than you, is that her tastes seem to run very much like mine, I think we would need some very fertile hunting grounds indeed. I'd be up for a night of strip club "hunting" with the two of you the next time I visit LaLa land.

I have , joyously, been the hunted. After all, a lot of the sellers business models are to lure a certain type of clientele.
It makes sense for them to make themselves attractive to financially available mongers who could be fun to start a personal business arrangement with, or just fuck like crazy.
Clearly, I've been a willing participant in being lured by more than a few really cool heauxs on this board and others. Who wouldn't be attracted by someone who shows that they want your company and business?

Sometimes, it's a lot of fun to sit back and be the hunted rather than the hunter. I've met some really cool ladies. Some have become regular visits for me and some have become true friends outside of this.

But since I am "retired" now, I do not post ads to secure any prospects.  However, it is always good to hear and see boys and girls that are willing to go the extra mile to make dates if or when I have the time.  I hope that doesn't sound too obnoxious but there is definitely no thrill of the hunt for me anymore...

I find that the hunt is time consuming.  I do not have the free time.  To me the act of the hobby is the thrill.  When you meet for the first time, and how you feel a bit nervous, but aroused is where the excitement lies for me.  If I was retired, yes maybe the hunt would be fun, but I am always busy working & not at all related to this hobby life.  I am glad you find the hunt thrilling. To me it can be a complete waste of time.  Especially, when some guys do not bother to respectfully read your website, or VIP juicy details prior to contacting me several times.  I pay for VIP to read the reviews to see if we maybe compatible & $20 is a small price to pay to see if we may have chemistry first.

Happy hunting! xoxo lol Smile for me & make it a great day!

...maybe i have a different point of view...was in a touring band for 20 yrs, where i seldom needed to hunt...most hookups were just "in the moment" w someone w a backstage pass...i travel a lot now w my biz now and have regular friends i visit..i think its hard to find a woman that fits/gets me/is passionate/and has shared real orgasms....finding that provider means less searching for me and her...2hr hangs become overnights-overnights become weekends-weekends become travel...etc....to me hunting means you still haven't found what you need...

.  . . is when a cutie or a silver fox comes to me and (not so) shyly asks to submit to me.
Or the best when one of my clients asked me to "teach this old dog new tricks"

As a provider, I'm not necessarily "hunting". But I see many variants of the "male species" so to say
And there's a thrill in figuring out how to push their buttons in all the right places ;)

There's no lack of variety and "hunting" isn't fun for me. I'm usually not looking for the next, I'm building with the exisiting... I find that way more gratifying?

But I think that's probably due to the dynamic and power balance.
