There is govt regulation in regard to car pool lanes and the tax code too but look how many still cheats in the car pool lane and how many still cheats filing their taxes. Meekly following stupid laws is for sheeple.

With the advent of legalization of pot, it's not too hard to imagine that someday P4P will also be legalized or more hopefully, decriminalized.

But what then, would we feel like the author of this little essay?

on prices to the detriment of providers and to the benefit of hobbyists.  More women would do it to get extra money if it was legal, flooding the market with available services.  Eventually, many providers would leave because prices would be low, allowing prices to rise and stabilize somewhat, but probably still at a level below today.

I like what I like, NOT because someone tells me I can't have, but because I like it. If someone told me I couldn't fuck old fat broads, I wouldn't all of a sudden start wanting to fuck Shamus.

The author sounds like a weak minded guy, quite easy to manipulate, and as for fishbro's premise that fucking hookers without the "thrill" of possibly getting caught doesn't hold water, or at least not I'm my case at least. I do a LOT of whore mongering where it's 100% legal, I enjoy it at least as much as I do here at home, actually even more as you can't go out to a bar with two hundred women openly selling their ass here at home, and anyone who hasn't experienced a bar PACKED with women all wanting and competing for you attention has no idea what they are missing.

I wish you guys would quit speculating on what "might" happen if prostitution were legal and simply hop on a plane and go to one of the many places where it is already legal and judge for yourself.

Your alias should be Judge Mental...  I can't stand skinny broads unless they have fat hearts, so there.

Every young girl that wants a new pair of shoes will be spreading her legs for a dollar.

I do believe it will open the door to the Evolution of Sex.
The flood gates will be opened and that which was in the shadows will have light shone on it.

Sex will be seen for what it is:
a natural healthy human bodily function.

Religion's lies will start to disintegrate.
Sex will be put into new Perspective.

For example just look at virtually ALL of Latin America, I don't think anyone dispute that there isn't even a hint of "separation of Church and State" in Latin America, but I can't think of a single country in Latin America where you get locked up for buying or selling sex.

Our Puritan foundation is partially responsible for our outdated and prudish viewpoints on prostitution , but IMHO the feminists are every bit as much to blame for our current backwardness on the issue as religion.

Yes. I was thinking that very thing.

I also think the women in the  USA are a tad further ahead in this game
and need to stretch this New thought into New areas of possibility
without Religion as an excuse for anything.

RANT BEGINS...

The tragedy of drug use in this country is FAR exceeded by the casualties of the war on drugs.  It's decimated Northern Mexico and driven millions across our borders.  That doesn't include the tens of thousands of deaths in this country.  Really not a laughing matter.

Likewise with the war on the oldest profession.  You CAN'T have trafficking/slavery of unwilling ladies if P4P is legal.  That shit needs to stop - along with other wonderful government experiments in social engineering at gunpoint...

BTW - the guy who wrote that article is an overprivileged moron who has obviously never had to really worry about the consequences of getting busted and spending time inside because some cop decided to plant a doobie on you.  And - oh that NEVER happens to African Americans in this country.

Of course, he is writing for the LA Times - and moron is a job requirement there.  What the fuck happened to liberals DISTRUSTING government??  One good thing from this last election is that we might see that again....

RANT ENDS..

Was it really that bad?

JLS seems to have a rather tenuous relationship with the truth, as Corrine and the GallopingGourmet has proven to most, but it does appear she was telling the truth in regards to you when she claims to have those little raisins you call balls tucked away in one of the corners of her purse. I guess it's easy for her to carry them around all day as they hardly take up much room. ROFLMFAO

What do you call a Chinese and a Italian ...

"CHOP" get it?

And, what do you call someone who is too stupid to have his online mugshot removed from the web ... "Gagambler" of course. Dumbass. Oh, and that photo of you online sucks ... start spending more than $10 on a haircut if you want us to take you seriously. Cheap bastard.

It's a much better way to go about it for us...The legal model usually involves brothels which force you to work long hours, tak a big cut of your pay and subject you to the humiliating line up routine.

Yes the decriminalisation of P4P would help everyone involved avoid criminal prosecutions and records which could impact on future careers.

But apart from that those with wives and girlfriends will still have to play their secret games to get out to play, arguing with your wife of twenty years (or her divorce lawyer) that what you're doing is perfectly legal is unlikely to do you much good!!

The argument that legalising P4P would result in an increase in the number of providers thus creating competition and lowering prices is interesting but I'd have to bow to those living and playing in areas where legality is in place. But I doubt it would be as pronounced as suggested

Overall the existing stigma of those involved in the sex industry is unlikely to change, even if it's perfectly legal how many college graduates, for example, will feel free enough to include their working as a provider to raise funds to finance their college tuition on their CVs?

The difference there is that the legal brothels are strongly regulated. Everything is covered, no BBBJ.
But, the independent industry is thriving. Prices are not low, and the ladies are hot!
But, nothing is cheap in Australia.

The only real difference is that nobody is breaking the law.

But, there are still illegal brothels that get busted for human trafficking and breaking health and location regulations.

of Nevada.  Brothels there are very expensive especially when you take into account the quality of the provider.  You will be hard pressed to find a 10 or even a 7 in their brothels.  You are paying for safety and no chance of LE jumping you.  Not worth the long drive from Vegas.  Canada has made attempts at legal prostitution, mainly to keep providers safe.  However, with so many rules and regulation you never know what you can or can't do.  Making it legal will benefit the IRS and LE, that's for sure.

...part of the allure of this playground is breaking the rules of authority. You know, being an outlaw and doing what you want within your own moral code. Life is short, break the rules, forgive quickly, love honestly, laugh easy, keep it simple, ride often, ride free, and never regret anything that makes you smile.

Why would your moral code change just because the laws do? I don't get that argument at all. Being a rebel is more about doing what you want regardless of the rules but deciding what to do based on it resulting in breaking the rules is being a slave to the law and custom.

Senator.Blutarsky308 reads

My moral code wouldn't change... I'm going to live my life on my terms, and play the way I want regardless whether the game is legal, decriminalized, or not. It's just an added bonus being an outlaw.

but as an adult I don't see that legalizing or decriminalizing P4P would change the fun for me at all.

What impact on price would be difficult -- legalization implies regulation which could drive up overhead costs for providers that will pass on to the clients. The other issue would be new entry, cdl suggests that will drive prices lower but it could simply drive average quality down and make search costs much higher for clients which may even support higher prices for the better quality provider.

Still, a slightly amusing article written from the perspective of a stoner I'd say.

I P4P because I like fucking, NOT 'cause it's the thrill of getting caught.  In fact, it's just the opposite - I ignore the threat of getting caught

Although I'm not old enuff to say for sure, I highly doubt that I would like scotch even more if we were still in prohibitio

or ignorants. Why? because just like many other things in life that are not available here in the USA they are already available in other parts of the world. Whether it's legalized prostitution or universal health care there is NO NEED to speculate what it would be like here.

As another poster already said, just look at the examples from the rest of the world to see how it works or doesn't work

don't worry,
There will always be something for the young ones to Rebel against.

Legal P4P?...
That's women who are married, right now.

With decriminalization,
I think All women, including those who have the paper that gives them the permission to do it legally,
 will eventually figure out:

the Dick wants what the Dick wants
and there's no use in fighting it
   and trying to Control it

For instance, say it was legal and regulated, and BBBJ was not allowed, I'd find an Independent who would do BBBJ under the table.  I'm a 1%er outlaw, and I will remain an outlaw until the day I die.  Hell, I'll probably go out with a bang by finding an illegal way to take my own life.

There are some significant differences.

In Nevada, prostitution is LEGAL and as a result, it is a lot of bureaucracy involved in getting a license to work and operate a location, even as an individual which makes it nearly impossible for anyone who isn't already working with a large bankroll to get off the ground. This makes the industry a limited entry game that is controlled by folks with money who will maintain the monopoly so they can control prices and discourage free market competition, as monopolies like to do. You don't see a lot of competition for the Bunny Ranch other than some agency and independents in the area trying to stay in the game, do you? Where is the alternative company to the Bunny Ranch company? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Ferris Bueller?

Decriminalization, however, really means that you can do your thing and two adults can negotiate the terms of their engagement with each other in any way they choose without risking being taken hostage by LE and dragged to the center of town for a flogging by the moral police with society's approval and enthusiastic support - along with all the financial costs associated with getting out of a "criminal" charge for just being a consenting adult who wanted to exchange something other than protracted courtship and promises of marriage for intimate access to another adult.

Decriminalization is vital and necessary. It is high time that we stopped punishing women for not demanding marriage as the only approved vehicle for adult engagement with a partner and certainly it is time for men to stop being treated like degenerates who should be treated like social pariahs because they wanted to engage with another consenting adult where the rules and expectations were made clear and simple between them.

Decriminalization. Support it because your humanity and simple human needs as a man (or woman) are not a criminal act.
