I think I paid about $300 for a headset.  I eventually tried VR porn but couldn't finish watching; it was just too weird.  A VR tour of the International Space Station, a quick EVA with a little jet-pack to de-orbit and drop into the Grand Canyon and onto a kayak and survive the white water only to be eaten by a saber toothed tiger seemed perfectly normal by comparison.
