I'm sure some ladies will respond to this protesting that THEY got tested last week etc.---- BULLSHIT!  Most "ladies" are too lazy, or won't take the time, or won't spend the money, or really don't WANT to know the results. Others figure "I always use rubbers so why do I need to get tested"?  The truth is almost NO ladies get tested with any degree of regularity.  True.

Now let's hear the ladies protest.

Unless you live with one you then you wont know if they do or not.If find it quite ballsy that this guy thinks he can speak for providers about their health and how they take care of themselves. Providers know that word goes around quick in this industry and getting tested is a nessecity in our line of work for our health and well being and that of others we come in contact with. If anyone is dealing with multiple partners they are concerned with what they may or may not get.

There are many places that do std and hiv testing for free so thats no excuse. Most providers are very responsible when it comes to this.

Every day there are posts on here where people write ridiculous things and then sit back and enjoy the reaction they get. I find it amusing but this time I will bite. Obviously you have no idea what percentage of women or men on here get tested or how often they do.  

Actually if you use a condom regularly there is very little chance you will get hiv. Even if the condom broke and your sexual partner had hiv the chances of contracting hiv are less than one in a thousand for s single encounter according to a Psychology Today article which was quoting research from the Journal of the American Medical Association.

I do think it is a good idea to get tested  regularly for the other common STD's if you engage in unprotected oral sex regardless of what your partner tells you about testing.

Asking if someone is "clean" probably leaves a pretty good chance you just killed the mood a bit...  

Politely asking pointed questions regarding a providers knowledge of hygiene and STD prevention will tell you much more about how she takes care of herself...you may even want to play "himbo" (male equivalent to bimbo) for a minute and ask as though you are seeking knowledge for yourself. Providers that are truly knowledgeable will usually take the time to talk to you about it.

Be sure to educate yourself *first* before asking questions, as most paranoia about STD's tends to come from lack of knowledge on the part of the person asking the question.

It is a delicate subject to be sure; I think the mileage you get will depend on how you broach the topic.

There are many in this hobby that do not get tested, ever- period.  There are many who do.  It is impossible to avoid risk all together, but if you visit a provider that is practicing questionable service that is a good indication of how she views health.  That street goes both ways; if I see a client that tries to pressure me into BBFS I do no see them again.  

Although Oy Vey was exceptionally rude and over-generalized, the reality is:  those who don’t get tested (hobbyist or provider) aren’t going to be readily willing to admit it for obvious reasons.

That said, what you are actually participating in also will dictate your risk level.  Read the CDC’s website for more information.  In basic terms- contracting blood born disease is practically impossible if you are using protection, correctly- every time (for intercourse).  The other minor things can be contracted even if you use a rubber, so you have to proceed at your own risk.  General good health and prudent use of protection are your best defense.

Good hygiene, eating properly (I personally try to load up on immunity building fruits/vegetables), catching a good night sleep consistently, not smoking, not using drugs, not drinking excessively and exercising are all ways to lessen your chances of contracting.  That holds true for all illness, not just STDs.

Some of us do test routinely and keep the health department HIV status document on hand.

and not uncommon. esp among asian massage parlor workers. something like 20-50% are infected. so, it's somewhat inaccurate and irresponsible to say that if you just use a condom for intercourse it's practically impossible to contract anything serious.  

there are vaccinations against some types of hepatitis that hobbyists and providers can get, but i am guessing most are not aware or do not bother to do it.  the common belief is the only thing you have to worry about is hiv, which seems to be the message almost every time one of these posts is made.

Sure it is too late to change anything at that point, but at least you get the Hate Sex for the rest of your session...however long it lasts.

Think about this sensibly...asking someone if they are clean is like accepting a review on CraigsList.  You have no way of verifying it and it can only serve to give you a false sense of security in a situation where you should never be complacent.



As for other cleanliness issues...here is a PSA for everyone:

Can you ask about STD testing? Absolutely. I wouldn't be offended at all by your question. If you ask when our time is over though, I'm going to chuckle before I give you my answer (that is kind of like shutting the barn door after the horses have been stolen). But CAN you ask? Sure.

Here is the problem though.

Ask Girl #1 if she gets tested regularly, and she will say "Of course I do!" even though the only time she ever got an STD test was 10 years ago when her high school sweetheart informed her that he had tested positive for gonorrhea.

Ask Girl #2 if she gets tested regularly, and she will say "Of course I do!" and actually mean it because she just got the results from her last round of tests last week.

As another member suggested, the best way to guage the level of safey practices by your lady love is probably by asking just about any question BUT "do you test?". If the lady can give you intelligent and informed information about STD symptoms, treatments, etc, chances are she has taken the time to inform herself and takes care to keep herself safe and clean as well.

I wasn't saying the ONLY thing to worry about it HIV but let's be honest, HIV is the big bullet.  In normal, healthy adults Hepatitis (and HPV) is cleared by the body's immunity.  To my knowledge, no one infected with HIV can naturally "cure" themselves of it.

Because of that-- it is a much great danger in my mind.

and if you are a sex worker or see escorts, than i believe you are at risk.  it's mandatory for people who work in health care who no doubt have less direct contact with bodily fluids.

15-20% in the general asian population in new york and china is what's reported by the nytimes bbc, nyu,etc.

how does a disease self-cure in 90% of people and exist (as in active infection) in 15%-20% of a population?  that makes no sense..

the ladies' forums I belong to discuss testing ad nauseum. The majority of great providers really do care about their health and the cooties you may or may not disclose. Hell, if it came out that you had hpv or hiv or the herp, I can guarantee you that the ladies that would visit you would be few and far in between. Then again, most guys don't like to disclose that info, so we take our own precautions and get tested regularly.

I can assure you that I've got a huge file of tests dating back years. If I'm old enough to spread my legs, I'm old enough to go get tested. It's to the point now that my gyno groins when I come in and has to deal with my germophobia and the AIM center as well as the one over on Venice both know me by name. I think I see those ladies more frequently than I do some of my friends. lol.

The point is, you can't possibly speak for everyone in your cynicism. Furthermore, your attacks further down the page are quite obvious. I mean, at least think up something original to throw in a lady's face.
