Okay I guess we all have pet peeves....but what exactly does it mean when a hobbyist ask "Oh so were you busy?" I'll be honest I'm one of those people (obviously) that people could ask anything and I'd answer but this particular question erks me. Don't know why? My other provider friend says she feels as if they are asking to know how much money she made, I feel they are asking to know how many people I've seen....

So what exactly does it mean?

Am i the only one that feels like that towards the word "busy"?

to me i think it is just one of the most common things to ask when making small talk... So the same in this business you will be asked but I just gladly say yes I've been busy business is good and that's it... In a way it does feel like they're asking how many people do you see or how much you're making but I really don't mind ....

Usually it's a slam for not returning phone calls or messages, but if it's said out of the blue it could just be a senior moment for someone who didn't think before they opened their mouth, but if not- they might just be a prick

Like if you worked at a flower shop and a client, while waiting for his order, decides to make some small talk, asks "so you guys been busy for Valentines' day?" :-)

I just think that "have you been busy?" is just one of those completely generic and meaningless things you can ask in place of the weather when it comes to meaningless small talk. Because of that, I think you're probably just looking too much in to it.

"Have you been busy?" or "what's the kinkiest request?" blah, blah, blah...or they start chatting about other providers they see. I never discuses clients with other clients.  Gossip never ends well &  makes me uncomfortable. But if required I can pull a few "hooker" tales out of my hat to entertain them

Are not as they seem in the rest of the world.

Busy = tired and worn out
Do you like your job = can't really say "sometimes" to a johns face...odds he will possibly feel he is the one she can't stand to be with

...but when I'm with a provider I want that time to be all about me...I could not care less how busy you've been or how much you've made or anything else...I'm there for you to make me feel like the only person that matters for that time...

I kinda thought that was the general idea...

conversation.

I just posted on my regional area RE: Is Boston good to tour in?

I assume it would be if you were busy there.

I honestly would not overthink any conversation that comes up when you are with us. LOL
I would imagine most of us are not there for the conversation?

BTW
It means "How many guys have you been with recently"

How would want to see a woman that doesn't like her job?

I always assumed it meant how many guys have you been with recently....and I am uncomfortable sharing that because I don't want to turn them off. However, I had a client who told me the thought of me with many different men turned him (or so he said) so that particular session turned into something else...lol. I don't mind sharing. But, I also talk too much. And have to actively remind myself that most of my clients are not there for my conversation nor do they want to hear all my "war stories" lol. But, I like the idea of just saying business has been good. I usually say no I haven't been busy because I am afraid they won't think I am available. I also overthink alot, and a lot of times my perception of what they say is wrong.

Ridiculous a trick asking a hooker that question...she should lie and say "I love my job". That is the ONLY answer a hooker could give and not get shit.

In the real world one can say a plethora of things...like," job's okay but the money is great" or as I said, "sometimes", "depends on the clients I see"...etc. I doubt if these answers would suit a trick.

guys that ask these type of questions all the time...and question like "what do you do with your money?"
it is a bit rude to ask questions of such sort in my humble opinion..

Just after I quit working for an agency. One of my old agency clients asked me that question the first time he saw me after I went independent. I'd raised my rates, and he seemed sort of skeptical about the wisdom of my decision...

Most of my current clients seem to assume that they are my one and only for the entire day.

mean ... if my doctor tells me he can't stand his job while I'm right in the middle of a procedure, that might put an equal damper on things. Same thing for my hair stylist, auto mechanic or practically anyone else besides the waitress or fast-food worker who gets me my food -- I just sort of expect them to hate their jobs. :-) So I don't ask out of sympathy.

Please. Sex workers are not the only people who find it more convenient to lie when asked that question. :-) You don't have a monopoly on that one, girl

Hbyist+truth, I guess you can say it depends on the personality that I am interacting with and how compatible they are with me.  If those two things, transpire then it happens to be a good time at work. If they don't, then the job might repulse me at that point.  However, I believe that one of the reasons after the financial potential of the business that you got in is because you are somewhat social and you interact with men exceptionally well.  When it becomes a time when you get ready to leave the business, then you can start to see the burn out and you start to pull back and maybe see a few regulars.

That she was being over worked and she was tried. It showed up during the session with her. I never went back to her again. That was our 4th session together up until then I did enjoy her company. That night I could tell she was tried and not into it.

I would rather not know how busy a lady is or how tried she is. As long as she is with me that I feel like I am the one and only guy in her life. That is what I am paying her for. Not to complain to me about how much the agency is working her or how tried she is.

I guess I am goofy but, when visiting a provider who is on tour, I will sometimes comment that I hope her visit was profitable.  I ask for a couple of reasons.....1) I am empathetic in nature, I care and hope anyone I meet is doing well both personally and financially.  2) if the trip is unprofitable said provider may not return.

The thought of how many men she may have seen never enters my mind.
