....whether it's because we have a sudden influx of new member or not, I'm not sure----but people WE DO HAVE A HUMOR BOARD!!

I'm certainly not without appecitation a of joke, or 3 or 3 or 4 or more, but posting them here is taking up space on the general discussion board which is already getting more & longer threads (no complaint regarding that).  

PLEASE----Post them in the proper place.

but I have enjoyed the Martha Stewart jokes.... hehe!

I find them humorous, no complaint from me.

By nature, discussion boards are designed to allow free flow of information, experiences, opinions, etc.  

The TER's General Discussion board is a living example of how this platform can be used as a melting pot. Topics on this board cover a broad spectrum.  It would be rather difficult to create a specific category for each and every topic.  

Besides, not each topic is going to apease everyone.  If it doesn't tickle your fancy, move on to the next thread.  

A little bit of humor really never hurt anyone.  As the Doctor's say, "laughter is the best medicine".   It helps reduce high blood pressure, exercise over 100 plus muscles, and burns a small amount of calories as well.

I'm sure most people who have met me would tell you I appreciate a good laugh as much as anyone, & some of what I read on TER is hilarious.  

I don't find the humor objectionable at all & I certainly don't want it to stop.  It's just that there already is a humor board, which I think is a more appropriate place only because it allows more discussion on other issues to take place before a thread is pushed onto the second page, where it's perhaps less likely to be read all the way through...& at least with my browser all the pages beyond the first are less easy to navigate.  That was the sole motivation for my post in the first place.  But I'll admit after re-reading that post, I could have done a much better job of expressing myself.

As to the other points you make, I'm already well aware of them & happen to agree.

Now please don't go thinking I'm pissed off, because I'm not--it's simply that I thought this reply was perhaps an opportunity to better explain myself to anyone who might read it.

BTW...Noticed your post about the nosy neighbor & I think your wise to be concerned.  I wish I had an answer for you, but maybe you'll get some suggestions from other that help you solve it.
