There's a lot of different aspects to this issue, of course.  Any you're right, this impossible pursuit of perfection, perhaps a function of our media fixation, has skewed a lot of peoples' sense of reality.  Afterall, don't we all deserve to date a supermodel?

But I was also thinking as I wrote about two companies that I worked for (and others friends have since told me about since) where there is such an anti-male hostility that the men are afraid to talk to the women except in the strictest definition of work.  They have been threatened with policies written by the legal staff, indoctrinated with endless sexual harassment seminars and reached the only rational conclusion- contact with women is dangerous to your health and career.

These were headquarters of companies you all know.  In one of them, an opportunistic entry level analyst set-up her boss for a deliberate sexual harassment pay day.  My secretary was her best friend, and she told me months in advance of what was happening.  This woman got a new car and $55,000 from her employer, and of course, her executive level boss got fired.  She laughed all the way to Seattle where she "reinvented" herself.  I just don't consider this progress, especially compared to some of the positive work environments I'd experienced in the past.

The Feminist movement got side tracked by it's own success, as equality and opportunity for all women was replaced with a more radical agenda that was hard-edged and anti-male.  It was an agenda of the new lesbian powerbase that became the dominante faction in the movement.   In it, men are not necessary for marriage, happiness, families, or parenting.  The underlying reasons for "coupling" are viewed as demeanig to women and a form of male domination.

I know these attitudes are not shared equally by all age cohorts, nor are they evenly distributed geographically.  But they have had a powerful influence in shaping attitudes because of their influence in the media.  But on a more personal level, these attitudes have also had a very damaging effect on the average person struggling to achieve relationship happiness because many of the elements necessary for relationship success have been  framed in the context of weakness, domination, exploitation etc.  As a result, like all radical agendas, they are devisive and have contributed further to the factionalization of society at the most basic level- the interaction between men and women.  If men and women in the same society can't come together, how can geo-political or religious differences ever be reconciled?

is as big an A-hole as he sounds.

Conerning the subject, I think that appearance can be over-rated by the reviewer because the provider knows who the reviewer is, and the reviewer intends to return.  Often the subject of reviewing has been discussed with the provider, etc.  This naturally leads to the reviewer being as generous as possible if he enjoyed his time.  True?

he may not be kidding. He has posted previously (2-3 mos ago, I'd guess) about this same thing. I believe he said basically the same thing, that the reviews overrate both the appearance and performance of the ladies. I think that he cited examples of what he considered to be 8/9/10 in appearance and that these numbers shouldn't be used unless it is really appropriate (at least in his eyes). I guess we all should have the same opinion of appearance and performance as he does in order to make the reviews worthwhile, lol.

We all view things differently. An objectively gorgeous woman (10) without warmth and graciousness drops to an 8 in my book. Sorry, just can't look at people and separate the feeling. Conversely, a 6 gets better looking if she has that warm smile and fun attitude. Instead of "looks", for me the term should be "attractiveness". If not, a lot of mannequins would get a 10 rating. In life, I've only met one true 10, and was lucky enough to get her to marry me (didn't say she was bright..lol).

it's too bad that some people feel that their opinions are shared by all, or that their's are the only correct ones.

My tastes are probably very different from a lot of men.  I look at a willowy wisp of a woman and think, "Gee, she looks like she would break if I hold her too tight" or "I won't even feel her if I am on top of her or vice versa."  As  result, I prefer the "Marilyn Monroe" type over the looks of a "model." I also probably have very different preferences for the type of feminine face I like.   So, what for me is a ten, could well be a 6 or less for someone else, and his 10 could be a 6 for me.

I guess the real idea here is to have enough reviews that a prospective hobbyist can make an educated decision whether the provider is right for "him"

another point: if a lady gets a bad review out of 4-5... then she probably didn't find the hobbyist her "cup of tea" and/or found him unacceptable and gave sub-parr service, in effect causing the bad review.

If I find a man unclean, nasty or gross, he certainly isn't going to get my "preferred client" treatment LOL... I really don't want him to see me again anyway!!

Not everyone can be everything, we all should just strive to be happy..

I mean there isn't a perfect 10, so what people might want to do is think of the most beautiful woman in your eyes, then compare from there. So lets say I think Pam Anderson, Carmen Electra, or Brooke Burke are three of the most beautiful women in the world, but they aren't 10's, say 9.8's or something :D well then I would go down from there, depending on what I didn't like compared to the women I admire most. Maybe too much of an ass, but everything else is great, so she is an 8. Maybe the best body ive seen, but her grill is a little messed up, then maybe a 7. At no time though should a girl like this be bumped up because you had the time of your life, thats why you rate on the performance as well. Everyone knows that the majority of possible 8 or 9's out there, are the ones that are really given an 8 or 9 in looks, yet a 1 or 2 in performance. This isn't always the case, but it is basically true. The prettier the girl the less she is going to do, because certain people give them money, gifts, or whatever they want for sitting there and looking nice, haha losers. Oh well If you really think that you are paying 500 dollars and the girl your'e with is as good looking as a Pam Anderson, then you need some help anyway. Think of it like this, what do you think a girl of that beauty would cost? I guarantee it would be more money than a lot have to spend.
