I find it easier to simply say, "My apologies but I had a salad with red onions for lunch and feel that I need an altoid, here's one for you as well..." or some such.  It takes the blame/shame away from your client.

HOWEVER, I have had two clients whose teeth were atrocious (you could SEE the fuzzy layers of plaque growing!) and I had a little heart to heart with them about the dangers of not having the teeth cleaned, recommended a good hygenist, and mentioned that I would be unable to see them again unless they had it addressed.

Ok hobbyist, I as a provider have encountered this in the past as I am sure other providers have. I have a person whom I see nad adore except for one thing. I am not sure if it is for medical reasons or just bad hygeimne , but this person always has lets just say not nice breath. I as a provider an not sure how to address the subject to him becuse I dont want to be rude and hurt his feelings but I need a good way to go about this. Can anyone offer me some help on this subject. Thank-You in advance

A favorite of mine simply offers some mouthwash.  You could tell him, "I really get turned on by the taste of (said mouthwash)"...and I mean really, what guy would refuse after that?

I can understand your problem.  As a provider I offer my clients quite a few things above normal.  I always have bottles of water, deoterant spray, manly scented body wash and lotion, individual soaps, and lastly the thing that would help you, I have a bowl of packs of gum and mints.  It doesn't cost me very much to do this for my clients, and I see it as a nice way of showing that I care.  What I would suggest is that you keep a bowl of mints and gum around, and while taking one for your self, offer them to him.  Its a nice way of correcting the problem without being obvious about it.  Hope this helps.

Before you begin your session, you tell him,
"my mouth is going to be all over you, and I want your mouth on me (if you do), so lets both be very fresh" and pour two cups of mouthwash, cheers, then let the fun begin

The previous post sounds the best to me as a new hobbier.

Some mouthwashes, gum, breath mints taste better than others and vary from person to person.  But offered in an enticing sexy way would probably make anything taste good :)

Personally, I'd want to be told, and I wouldn't mind a blunt, though sympathetic, statement. Offering me a mint, mouthwash, or some such would be fine.

and suggest that they will be a lot happier if they use it.

If only I had had the fortitude to similarly address a couple of providers I've seen who were suffering from inadequate hygiene a lot further South than la bouche.

I carry breath mints with me wherever I go.  If his breath is stank, grab a mint for yourself & offer him one.  Most of the time he will accept the mint without question.

I would appreciate it if every lady I see offered me mouth wash and she also rinsed with it at the beginning. Many times I ask ladies for a cup of mouthwash. The fact that they show no hesitation in dfk'ing me tells me I have no breath problem. Still it's better and kind to the other person to rinse.

By the way, it's not always the gents having that problem. Occasionally, we gents meet some ladies with the exact same problem and avoid kissing if you can believe that. So rinsing and mints are for the mutual benefits of everybody and it's perfectly OK to ask/offer it.

As a hobbyist I always brush just before an appointment and also use the spray mouth freshener.  I would certainly appreciate a gentle nudge if my breathe were offensive.  After all I want this to be a wonderful experience for both of us and if I have barn breath thenI am sure her performance will reflect it.

would want the lady to offer me a strong breath mint, or perhaps ask me if I had any, which would prompt me to have one as well.  If that did not work I would have to be pretty dense.  I would hate to think I was offending her in that manner.
