I use nomorobo.com for my VOIP and smartphone.  Works great. The only thing it doesn't screen out is political calls, because you know fucking Congress exempted themselves so they can still hit you up for money. Otherwise, a great free service for VOIP and $19.99. a year for smartphone, both Android and Apple

I just downloaded an app, Scan Shield, from T-Mobile that is supposed to cut down on scam calls.  One of the features that I noticed is that the app provides a proxy number (Proxy by Digits) that the user can use as a second phone number.

On the "Proxy by Digits" app it says the following:

"Scam Shield gives you an extra PROXY number that you can use when you don't want to share your private phone number."

Just curious if anyone has used this and what your thoughts are for using this second number as a type of hobby phone?

It's a second number without bells and whistles. Something you can probably get via Google voice.

Imo, you're better off just using a burner app because those have good features that kinda fit our hobbying patterns.

As a free feature, I guess it's OK. you just get a second number that gets forwarded to your number and has separate voicemail (I think).

It's a nice app it prevent from scam and help you recognize scam calls
