I hobbied(detest the term)for reasons of laziness. I was too lazy to do the dating footwork. No rush though. Gambling always created a rush so i guess that addiction center in the brain is suspect to over-activity.

Narcotics(recreational)are a thing of the past; as is alcohol

There is a learning process involved in P4P and boy did I take some knocks. If not for being grabbed by the cajones(to slow down)by a special someone, I may have became seriously jaded towards the acquisition of sex.


Goodlife is a relative term. The gods may bless you with all sorts of luxuries but that doesn't guarantee you will appreciate or enjoy them.

Just occured to me. Many guys have many reasons why they 'hobby'. Never really cared for the word because it connotates something impersonal in my mind. So this is what I came up with.

It's a rush. I don't know how many of you people used to, or still do, abuse narcotics. Drink to excess. Or just do something out of the realm of the ordinary because of 'the rush'.

20 years ago you could put pills in my hand, or put a line of something infront of me and I would do it. I didn't ask until it was already in my system. I dealt with it.

Same thing with gambling. I love, love gambling. Cuz of the rush.

But I don't gamble, and I don't hobby if I can't afford to lose it. And I don't do drugs cuz I almost lost it. My life, I mean.

So. My deal is, who else has come to terms with their way of thinking as far as 'the rush'?

It's a learning process, I'll admit. And there's people here that turn you on to their experiences and you 'see' thru them. You learn without doing it the hard way like they did. Or them thru me.

No one here is so sanctimonious that they lived the goodlife and everything came easy to them.

If infact they lived the goodlife. With a loving mate that satisfied them sexually and emotionally, 2.3 kids, a great career with a golden umbrella, BBQ'd with the neighbors every Saturday, and all that shit. WTF would you be doing here?  

But that's just it. There are those here. They have nothing to bitch about. But it's not enough.

The rush.

If it feels good, do it.

That's the only rush I get, along with skydiving and being up in a sailplane or balloon.

I guess I like Inikies suggestion better: "cosa nostra." Too bad it's taken!

I do it because I want to have sex with women that would under normal circumstances not give me a second look.  I'm 64, and the thought of having any kind of sex with a woman my own age does not get Mr. Happy excited at all.

I did the marriage thing, got 2 great kids, but marriage was not for me.  Civvie dating is just as much out of the question for the reason in above paragraph.

There's my .02 waiting for change.

But I agree the word "hobby" is lame.  Hobbyist is worse.  Makes us sound like stamp collectors. We had this debate some months ago and someone said we should just be called "hooker-fuckers," or something like that.  I still haven't been able to come up with anything better, but "the rush"  doesn't do it for me, even though I agree it's a total rush; the whole process of finding a new lady the waiting to see what you're going to find on the other side of the door.  I just think of it as "the game."  Hey, how about "cosa nostra?"  Italian for "our thing."  Oops, it's taken.

I flipped out on Acid one nite and that was the beginning of the end for me. ( drug use, that is. )
I now suffer from chronic depression and a high for me now, is just feeling well.
I enjoy life being clean and sober.
