No Technology is perfect

Although this sounds like a fantastic breakthrough. Still, it seems as though every new technology causes as many unforseen problems as it solves, is too expensive or otherwise unavailable for general use, or else is simply ignored by a huge segment of the population. I'm thinking in particular about the birth control pill and condoms. The Pill was invented when? in the mid sixties? Yet now there are more unwanted pregnancies in the US than ever. Condoms have been around for centuries, and are dirt cheap, but how many millions of people have died because they chose not to use them?

During the first sexual revolution everyone thought they were protected by the Pill and antibiotics. 30 years later it turns out they were wrong. Many of them dead wrong.

Sorry to sound like a party pooper. Science continually makes advances. Unfortunately human nature doesnt.

WCBS TV reported the new  Gel-Birth  and disease control salve to be released!!. Link:

I have to agree that there are probably some problems with the new gel, but we all look forward to seeing it. The problems with the Pill are numerous. It being a prescription drug and the relatively high price make it burdensome. Also the need to take it on a regular basis instead of just when you need it is a major downside. Condoms may have been around for centuries but latex ones are very recent, 50's I believe. Before that they were usefull for contraception but not for protection from STD's.

I'm sure that SAVVY would be great in a monogamous or less active sex life; but with multiple partners the same day?  The resultant cream pie effect? We can also forget about DATY!

As with "foam" I'd hate to think I have to leave this gunk in me for ANY period of time after sex and  not be able to douche it out.  At least with a condom, I can have DATY by someone else, or even the same person, after I throw the damn thing away and then douche.  With this stuff, I'm not so sure.  I'm sure that nobody wants a mouthful of gunk, neither do I look forward to having  a SAVVY topped cream pie that I have to hold inside me for several hours like some monistat medication.

Yech.  Well, we'll see what cums of this.  If SAVVY has ingredients that are a viable alternative the ravages of repeated nonoxynol use, and does kill all the things it claims, AND allows removal of gel by douching right afterwards, then there may be something to it.

Good God, I need to buy stock in acidophilus, I use so much of it to counteract the use of all the gunk that we ladies have to put "up there in that pear".  Sometimes you guys are so lucky, EVEN WITH a garbage bag! No burning, no gunk buildup! No douching!
