A generic pharmaceutical can be manufactured when the original drug's trademark expires. The FDA is quite stringent about regulating true generics [which is why so many health plans accept them]. Since no R&D or clinical trials need to be done on a generic they are usually very cheap. Viagra is a new drug and it's trademark isn't going to run out for about 10 years.
If you look at the product label you linked to it says "genecric" [sic] so either they intentionally mis-spelled the word to avoid lawsuits or they can't spell; in either case it tells me to stay away! Since they are unregulated, I would be surprised if this "stuff" contains the Viagra active ingredients.
There are somewhat illegal/gray-area deals with imported or overseas sources of Viagra that would be better bargains if that is what you are looking for. The bottom line on this would be to stay away, sorry. Just goes to show how paying Google for a top rank and making a snazzy web site can make any product look legitimate. I remember reading somewhere that in the clinical trials a high percentage of the control group got wonderful (psychosomatic) effects - so you might get lucky
So, I can buy my doses on the 'net, and I can buy "generic" Viagra for HALF the cost of the real deal. Anyone know if theres somthing wrong with the "generic" stuff? Is it safe? Does it work?
I can tell from the website that it's not made in the US. I know theres abig fight about bying drugs from Canada, but I think that involves medications the American companies sell cheaper outside the US that get brought back in. This stuff looks like its made elsewhere. the link points to one of the ads that showed up in my inbox. Im not promoting this stuff. Hell, the bucks I spend on little blue pills are nada compared to what the hobby itself costs. Probly i should just stay with the real deal

I've been told that Sildenafil was orignially developed as a vasodilator antihypertensive medication. Supposedly, the initial clinical trials were aborted because of the "blue lights" phenomenon - with DOZENS of other BP meds on the market, who'd use one with such obvious and disturbing - even if harmless - side effects?
The company realized there might be something else going on when they tried to retrieve unused drug from study subjects, who wouldn't send it back
Perhaps that's apocryphal, but it's still a great story.
