the lovely ladies that post here would find the terms "hooker" & "prostitute" to be pejorative.
They're insulting terms for many. Escort/provider
has a much more elegant ring to it.

Maybe a trip to the FAQS for newbies board might help you.

High class call girl usually urks me because it's most often used by someone who knows nothing about the business. They think I am some kind of black "Heidi Fleiss".

Prostitute - I've used that word myself when people try to put down street walkers. Technically, we are all prostitutes, just different. Like saying a Lexus, Nova, Mercedes and Gremlin are all cars. The same, but still different.

Hooker - Dislike this one too. Again it's mainly a context thing, and I never hear it in good context.

I use the term escort most often. Covers all the bases as what most of the ladies do here is very in depth and challenging. Think of how easy/hard it would be to do what we do with someone  - no matter their politics, attractiveness, sometimes awkwardness and still make him feel like king of the world. Quite a skill and I applaud many of the ladies here who do it with grace and style.
