TER General Board

And then the lawyer said...

While meeting with an estate lawyer to update our will, my husband cracked a joke about bequeathing something to his girlfriend. The lawyer busts out laughing and starts joking about escorts. We never mentioned escorts so how did he make that leap? I started to asked him if he was a member of TER but stopped myself because his son, a paralegal, was in the room. Have you ever met someone and got the feeling they are a hobbiest?

So your husband is asked by the lawyer about hobbyists, and you know about TER?
Obviously, there is a bit about this that is missing in this picture.  As a person with a new log in, are you his wife, and are you a hobbyist in your own right?
Inquiring minds would like to know before giving jewels of wisdom in a General Board....pm me if you need..

Sounds like a REAL professional attorney.

That would be 100% correct.   Can you teach me how to do a search so I can learn from my mistake?

It looks like you are newer to the board and may not be familiar with me. I don't post often throughout the years. I recently answered your questions as well as others...

"I originally got the idea for his 50th birthday. I had no idea to how to safely pull it off until I stumbled on TER. We got off to a rocky start with a last minute cancellation from the first provider, whom we never heard from again. Finally got lucky with a terrific gal from out west who was touring. This year was with the next lady - the one I told you about. Hubby had the date but I had plenty of communications with her."

Have a day. :)

I humbly offer my sincerest apologies.    And yes, I've only dipped my toe in the General Board recently, having spent my time in my regional board.    Again, my apologies to you.

You politely asked a question. That's fine with me. It's the ones who attack me without first finding out the facts that are upsetting. You my dear, do not fall into that category.

That's one thing I've learned from my husband... ask first before flying off the handle. It makes for better communication. Enjoy the GB! There are some really nice people here.

...she didn't say the lawyer asked about escorts she said he joked about escorts after the husband joked about leaving something in the will for his "girlfriend".

been posting on and off for a while now and is open minded to give her husband a GF experience for his birthday present.  Lucky guy.

(2)  Re-read the OP and you will find the lawyer joked about escorts AFTER the husband asked about leaving something in their will for his "girlfriend".

Back to the regularly scheduled programming.

Name on it and its hers if he passes .....the transfer of assets does not require a a will or an attorney ....most people just don't know that ....furthermore you should both go over everything you Gus own and discuss it amongst yourself , make sure names are on documents , etc.....okay he can leave you "everything " however if your name isn't on it and someone else's is , its not yours ....."right of survivorship" ......;)........oh most lawyers ? Not smart , and a bit gay since they're spending most of their time "getting guys off" !

Happy Holidays C ......;)......xoxoxo..

On the drive home we discussed the difference between a mistress and a wife. I said the mistress gets memories and the wife gets everything else.

Actually, our goal is to set up a trust for our son. He was in a bad accident two years ago and we want to make sure he will never have to worry about a roof over his head.

Get several opinions as to how you guys can do this ...the assets can't be in his name and you don't want to entrust them to someone who can take them ( the assets ) either ....set up a small company ...put the house under the company ....talk to a tax attorney too ....look at all the angles....

Know to that mistress ??? Hmmmmm, see for smart you told him to "go" have fun ...hell pick the hottest , you took the fun out of it , lol...;)....oh your a smartie ........xo

Hey all the best to you for the Holidays ! Be safe and enjoy .....and a little extra love can't hurt so happy hobbying

I'm in the construction field, and these guys are all as horny as a 3 balled bob-cat.

Add to that their jobs allow them to travel around quite a bit and you have a nice setting to allow hobbying to bloom.

I pick up right away on the innuendo that comes out during our banter.  I'd never let on however.  I believe in the separation of work and fun, and I don't like the feeling of ever being compromised in any kind of business dealing.

I could not agree more!  I didn't even tell my friend who was quite open about his Hobbying with me.  Little to no upside and HUGE downside.

I have never seen so many clients from one profession in all my life...he knows exactly what TER is lol.

I've definitely seen lawyers, but the last one I can remember was back in July.

Other common clients for me: 'Economists', people 'in real estate', and professors.

I worked for an Attorney for a few years, and that's how I found out about the hobby...that and being a pharm rep. Most female reps are closet hookers.

If you are younger and hot, being a pharm rep is the best career you can have with NO degree. You can easily make 100k a year working 50 hours a week and 20 of those hours are fkin doctors, going to dinner, and doing coke bwahaha. I actually got a 22 year old friend of mine a job with the same company I worked for when I was young and hot...she lasted 4 months, but did get a car out of it. :)

So THAT's why I see so many knockout pharm reps. I wonder if any make money on the side as providers for non-doctors?

I had an office in a building with doctors , you wouldn't believe the way they ( rep girls ) spoke in the elevator ..actually unbuttoning their blouses , and dreams of a doctor bf husband , the funny part , the doctors , mostly assholes ..no respect for women and tried to learn about shit from magazines , like GQ , departures , and other crap ...London is so correct its not funny , oh but it is !! Lol...

But things might've changed since 2008 - those guys seemed to go more for the late-night variety of fun, so I have much less contact with that element...the financiers I see now are the ones who are a bit older and have families, not the thirty-ish playboys flush with Harvard MBAs and shiny new money.

Ha Ha, now about a month ago a nurse that works at my doctors office mentioned she was gonna set me up with one of the drug reps.  I think I may have to tell her to pick up the pace cause we may be on to something here.

for a MultiNational Corp...  a name you'd recognize...  traveled all over the world.  I don't think he hobbied.  He was killed in a tragic car crash.  I went to the funeral & was shocked to find his wife (in the front pew) was not the woman I'd supposed he was married to.  Nor the children seated with her.
The woman he'd lived with for many years, who I knew, was sitting in the very back pew.

The real wife had her out of the house they shared the day after the funeral.  GFs interests were not protected.

A friend of mine for many years, married, no kids, prolly in his early 60s now.  Just this past summer, a conversation of ours idly stumbled into the topic of the recent john sting in Long Island, New York.

He started saying some of the typical things you'd expect to hear: "victimless crime", "DA looking for headlines" (true, of course), etc.

But then he started talking about the biz more generally, and started using the term "provider"--and quite a few times.

Truthfully, I'd never really heard the term "provider" (in the context of the hobby) until I joined this crazy world myself.  I like it, personally.  I dislike terms like "hooker", even "call girl" or "escort"--and I despise "whore".  All of these terms strike me as very insulting, and I generally have very high regard for the wonderful women of the hobby world, and think there should be a less derogatory word for their profession--so I'm kind of partial to the term "provider".

I got the distinct impression that my friend was of the same mindset--and was using the same word for the same reasons; he thought the word was appropriate and that he was very familiar with it.  The only way that happens is if you are part of the hobby world.

Besides, his wife is a friggin' whack job, and is clearly on some pretty serious medications.  If I was married to her, I'd be looking around, too.  :)
