I know a lot of people in the Hobby use Hushmail because it is encrypted and out of the U.S.  Well, right now it is down.

The link between your computer and googles' servers is encrypted but the actual messages stored on google servers are not encrypted. They could be read by any google administrator or LE with a court order.

Hushmail offers encrypted message transmission and storage so the actual messages stored on their servers is unreadable by anyone other than the sender and the recipient. This isn't the default set up - the default is unencrypted until you and your message partner exchange security keys. Safe-mail also offers encrypted storage but at a fee.

Google also scans each email for key words to sell you crap. So between Google "reading" your email with its spiders and using said data to make a profit, and at the same time giving the government keys to your email, what is the point of them encrypting it again? I haven't looked up Apple but I am more than willing bet they do the same.

this encryption thing. I checked it out. I thought I frankly don't have anything going on that needs that kind of capability. I also have always thought that if LE of whatever variety wants you they will work it out. I believe there are those that should be found out.

I'm not interesting enough for them to look at.

I like Hushmail because there is none of the bullshit like Google which I consider Facebook Lite. Even my hotmail started making connections. I dumped it too.

My Hushmail page comes up quickly. It isn't covered by ads. It opens, I read, take whatever action is needed and close.

I like it.
