My wife suffers from a medical conditions that make her exhausted and make any sort of strenuous activity or a lot of pressure come with the price of terrible pain within 8-16 hours following. And many times she just doesn't feel like it, and those times it's more "wifely duty" than because she really wanted to make love. So there was a double-dose of guilt.

Not long after that, a married female friend came onto me and things got pretty intense -- until I realized that I was going to ruin someone else's marriage because mine had problems. So I cooled things off until she moved out of town.

Though I could probably get more sex for free by having affairs, I don't want anyone to get hurt or have unreasonable expectations. I decided to check out escorting, found TER, and found someone I was interested in visiting. I've had precisely one hobby experience so far (though I have a few appointments coming up). For large parts of my life when I hobbied, I alos had a girl friend so maybe 90% civilian/10%hobby.
I was married for greater than 20 years and didn't hobby at all until the last two yrs.
It took 2 years to get divorced and I didn't hobby at all.  Then I had a serious girlfriend all last year and didn't hobby.
I just started hobbying again in January of this year after my breakup with that woman.
Right now I am 100% hobby, am developing an ATF, and just sort of hanging out from civilian life for the time being.  
I would think at some point I would want to develop a civilian relationship at some point and that number will change again.
Right now I am content with the provider I am seeing.

They tell you in AA that if you stick around long enough, you'll hear someone tell your story. Yours is so similar to mine that it's almost scary.

My situation is a little different from the usual here.   My wife of almost 44 years still wants to have sex with me, but I can't really enjoy sex with her.   Therefore, I can't satisfy her, and vice-versa.    I suppose part of it is that she is hardly as good looking as the hotties I enjoy in the hobby, who are also half her age.   But it is mostly that I need a kind of stimulation that she is really not able to give.   It is a true regret in my life, but most of my sexual activities now are with my provider friends.

I posted on a thread a couple of days ago about the reason why I began seeing escorts, and it was because I could not get any intimate contact with a woman any other way.  If it weren't for getting "fluke laid" once back in 1989 (the only "free sex" I've ever had in my life, and not very good at that), I'm likely a 43 year old virgin today.  If I had any appeal whatsoever to women and could have ever developed a normal, intimate relationship with one, I would not (and never would have) ever gone this route.

my situation as well.  severe OCD and related medication has pretty much eliminated any physical relationship we have.  she is actually very attractive and gets checked out when we are in public.  that is, whenever she washes her hair, puts on something besides worn out sweats and actually leaves the house.  she was never great in the sack to begin with, however, so spending time with a companion has been fantastic for me.
