No, in case you missed it, I also said I was thinking about it.

One outta two ain't bad.

... having a difficult time getting guys to accept her medical condition (aka "...cry baby" subject line).  I am mentioning this, because it is approaching 1000 reads.  I don't know what the record is in "reads", but she is certainly getting more than any post I can remember.  Yet, ironically, she is lacking in hobbyist attention in the flesh.  So, if you haven't read it yet, you should check it out.  Better yet, check her out in Minnesota.

prospective customers know the condition, which I think is one classy move.  That explains the number of reads, and tells us all how many hits her profile gets over this period of time.  I hope it really works out for her, and if I was up there, I'd definitely check her out.

There are a handful of posts on this board (GD) which have over 5000 reads (the highest I noticed was over 7000) ... although most of those posts have been around since the dawn of the millenium (and of TER).

In terms of posts which have reached a high read count quickly, I think that the record belongs to a certain post on the NY board ... 2000 reads its first 24 hours, approximately 4400 six months later.

Matter of fact, having read Sue's reviews (as a direct result of this thread - probably would not have otherise), I have no doubt that I would make an appointment with her if I were anywhere near Minnesota - which I am not. Her medical issue would not deter me, of all people, in any way from seeing her.

I only mentioned the "read record" because holeydiver did. And if there is a lesson to be learned from his comment and from mine, it is that .... the posts which garner the most reads are the posts about real people, and real life, and real issues, posts which catch our interest and tug at our heart strings.

And some say we are a heartless bunch here - definitely not so.

I'm just thinking out loud here.... and wondering what I as a sister provider could do to help her. Does anyone have any ideas, please, for once be serious. I know I'm always first on base with sarcasm but I'm being very sincere here.

I'm hobby old school & like to think of it still as a somewhat close community. It's one of the few places where folks from all walks of life have someting in common.

I'm really racking my brains trying to think of something that would help boost her business and assuage what I can only assume to be fear on the part of the hobbyist. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

xoxoxo,
Holly
