What introduced you girls to hobbying? What do you think in your opinion, that would encourage more females to hobby? I know that by nature. Females are not as horny as men. But, I mean. There's gotta be more female hobbyists out there than we may know.

How can one encourage more females to hobby? Special rates for women? Longer dates? What do u think?

That's sexual discrimination! Why should anyone get discounts or special accommodations based on their gender? Male or female, a hobbyist is a hobbyist, with all the same rights, privileges and obligations.
What's next? Discounts based on religion so we can get more Jehova witneses in the hobby?
Fair is fair, just saying...

...Special rates for women? Longer dates?

I for sure thought you were going to call into question the "I know that by nature. Females are not as horny as men" comment.  I don't buy that for a second.

I think girls by nature suppress/hide/control their horniness better then guys, but I don't believe they are any less horny.

For myself, I knew that I wanted to be with a woman but was intimidated by the whole first time thing.

I was traveling away from home for work, liked the idea of trying it while away. I was naive and explained all of this over the phone. She had wine waiting to help relax me, spoke with me for a while and she deftly took over.

While she spoke with me she admitted that she had many female clients, mostly married business women traveling. I think there are more females that partake than people think, they just tend not to kiss and tell

Lol, next time we get together maybe I'll surprise you.
Then again, maybe not. You'll have to wait and see.

sure hope so. still haven't written your review yet, i'm easily swayed :-)

Lmao. Your threats don't scare me. Text me you fool so I can tell you what I'm doing tonight without you. Haha!

For myself....I happened to wander into TER from a stripclub site. And by no coincidence it was a former dancer turned escort here who was my first session. I never looked back! ;)

I absolutely think that the stigma of seeking sexual services is even greater for women. Though times do change, for many the idea of a female being so sexually pro-active is a scary threat to the status quo. To many people's thinking, ladies are supposed to sit around and wait to be asked - they should never take it upon themselves to seek it out. Crazy shit, huh! I think that there are many women who are super curious, but can't get up the nerve to dive in - hell many guys are nervous at first. Women seeking sex services is definitely catching on (especially in couples sessions), so I think that there will be more women inquiring about it, though they will probably remain in the shadows since not many are brave enough to make themselves visible on chatboards like this. But I'm crossing my fingers!

Encouraging lady hobbyists would prove difficult because there isn't a venue that I know of that caters to us. Whether it's escorting or stripclubs, I maneuver thru a world dominated by men. Many women are intimidated by that, and some men have no problem telling them that their presence is unwelcome....to which, of course, I say "fuck that". Women gotta start putting on their big girl panties and going out and getting what they want instead of waiting for it to simply land at their feet. Change is scary, and sometimes sacrifices are needed to make them happen. But like a locomotive that slowly gains speed - once it gets rolling you'd better get the heck outta the way!

I have seen some providers that do offer us ladies a discount, but it's rare. Simply put I think more providers acknowledging lady clients on their websites & ads will help draw the shy hobbyists out from the shadows. I know that when I first started hobbying, very few providers included ladies (and couples) in their websites, so a woman surfing there would feel displaced & marginalized and would probably never make an inquiry. That has started changing for the better as more providers learn that there are women clients out here. IMHO helping any fringe clients feel more included would go a long way towards more involvement.
:)

What introduced you girls to hobbying?

Curiosity, mostly. At a higher level I was at a point in which I had become adamant about not getting into another “relationship”, but I still wanted to have sex. And, while I never had a problem finding someone to have sex with, I found myself repeating the experience of having to address the “what are we doing here?” question. To which answering: “having sex?” didn’t fly.

Then I landed on the idea of FBST---don’t even really remember how or why now. But, it seemed like a fantastic idea. Had no idea how, or where to find such a thing (for women). But, with persistence….

**********************

What do you think in your opinion, that would encourage more females to hobby?

That’s a complicated question, and the answer is even more complicated. But just for starters she has to actually think of the idea. When I first started wondering about this….it surprised me that I had never actually thought of it before. It had just never occurred to me.

And, there’s a cultural stigma to get past. While there is a cultural stigma to sex work/ers, there is also a cultural stigma for a woman who would hire a sex worker. There is for men as well; but, not nearly to the same degree. You hear the old saw that: “why would a woman hire a provider? Women can get sex for free anytime they want.” And, in some peoples’ minds, what follows is the assumption that any woman who hires a sex worker must be so…fill in the blank…that she can’t get “sex for free”?! Which means she must be pretty awful.  So yeah….there’s that.

It certainly seems to be more acceptable for a woman to hire a provider as part of a couple. Just a guess on my part (and providers would have to jump in on this one), but my bet is that it’s more common for a provider to see a hetero couple than it is to see a woman, by herself.

Even if/when a woman gets past/ignores/whatever, the external noise and stigma, her options are pretty limited---by comparison to men. Seems to me this is changing a bit for the better. But, still, women just aren’t going to have 1000’s of providers to pick and choose from. And that’s assuming she wants to see a woman provider. If she wants to see a male provider…..well…

And the money. Women are less likely to have the disposable income. They’re more likely to be single parents.  And, even if they do have the cash, they may be more likely to prefer spending it on other things. A big generalization here, but I think it rings pretty true: If a guy has a $1000 bucks burning a whole in his pocket, he’s thinking Yay! I’ll go get laid. A woman is thinking: college fund for the kids. Quite honestly---a wife will be pissed-off finding her husband seeing providers. But between the sex with another woman, the lies and betrayal, and how much money he’s spent? Woe is the guy whose wife figures out how much cash he’s spent over the years….lol…

So, assuming a woman has actually thought of the idea as realistic, and she has the disposable income (that she’s willing to blow on an hour/2 for sex), and she’s reconciled however she feels about the stigma, and she’s persistent enough to figure out where to even start looking for providers and can find a provider that suits her?

Sure longer dates are good. Can only speak for myself but, a one hour session doesn’t work for me. Special rates? Sure. If a provider actually is BI (and I mean, REALLY BI…not just for show), make that crystal clear on her website. And, again, speaking just for me, the way that a provider markets herself makes a big difference in how I perceive her as being a good match.

That’s a bit abstract. And, given a providers bread-and-butter clients are men, of course the general marketing is geared towards men. But suffice to say that the “look how much of a sex-kitten I am”, or full-on vag-shots kind of thing is a big turn-off *for me*. (I think) it’s important for women to perceive a provider as intelligent/sensitive---get a clear sense that the provider is able to create a comfortable environment---establish trust, and a variety of other intangibles. Which is to say women are probably much more likely to actually READ a providers website looking for clues to compatibility than she is to go directly to photo gallery.

And, finally, overall, my sense is that MORE women would be attracted (at least initially) to FBST, than a GFE kind of session. I enjoy both---immensely….lol. But, FBST really gave me a chance to get comfortable with idea

I keep telling you I love you but you won't listen. Lol

You also have a pm.

I do pick-up PMs a couple times a year. So hold that thought....lol

Your assessments are pretty much spot on. For myself, I tend to think more like a guy, so things like full on vag shots and sex kitten stuff really works on me. Same with the sometimes way-over-the-top approaches that many dancers use at stripclubs - they get me every time! :-&

And while the pool of sex workers is larger for guys, I have not had any problems whatsoever in lining up dates with the women of my choosing, which IMO is a wonderful achievement and also an encouraging statement about the industry overall. It tells me that more & more providers are either game from the start or are warming up to the idea of lady customers.

Women are more complicated than men when it comes to sex. And possibly more challenging as clients. So, fantastic there are so many providers open to women.

And, things have changed considerably since I stumbled into this about 9-10 yrs ago. Starting with just having this convo on TER without some slobbering asstard jumping in with the "why would a woman ever....?"....lol...

Long time lurker who has always gotten a kick out of your post, but this one wowed me.

I agree to the definitely a longer session, especially for a woman's first few times. We are geared differently and, at least for me it took me sometime to get to the point of I have to feel your lips right now. Lol, but once there it's almost a frenetic energy. Maybe because it was still so new and decadent to me.

I think your  also right about starting with a FBST as well. My first few times were GFE and I think it made me a little more nervous as I was worried about not knowing exactly how to please her. With a FBST she has the option to relax.

I always paid full rate and never expected discounts. It's time not the act after all. And the spread open Vag photos completely turn me off. I wanted to know the woman herself and wasn't as worried about her looks as much as I was about our connection. Lol, and if she thought I was pretty and desirable.

Really great post Hotplants (a play on MASH?) TSSophia and Lopaw. Nice to be able to have this convo here.

It will be very nice in the future if the provider and the hobbysts allowed a man to pay and participate in the session  by only  watching and perhaps dividing the fee between then will encourage more women to see providers.

I don't know if it will encourage more ladies to seek escorts....but it would definitely appeal to any exhibitionists!

Without her husband there too. Omg I'd literally fly up to the moon and kiss the stars!! I LOVE women!. Especially agressive women... Ok let me calm down.

i only had 1 provider blow me out of the water, the rest were barely worth the effort to be honest. Maybe because I'm a provider I'm not sure. i'll keep on looking wisely but perhaps thats why. i know when women are faking it and most women are catty. They probably won't see you because you are prettier than they are.

Also advertising besides a hand full of women hobbyist on here, TER caters more towards men. i can assure you if  providers advertised in a website that caters more towards lesbians they would do much better as far as a woman ratio.

Performance though, is key and by far according to what I seen and paid  for I should be charging 1k an hr.

Roxanne-
have you been with another provider one-on-one, or only with your fiance as a couple?

Sasha, are you asking because you're interested in seeing more female clients?  I have often wondered how many bi/lesbian women would be interested in an encounter/relationship with a TS.  So far, the ones I have asked are averse to the gender-bending thing, and I remember from my human sexuality class in college, that trans women tend to attract straight men (like myself) for the most part.  However, I have noticed that most of the trans women I meet like both men and women.  Is this a problem for you, or are more women coming out of the woodwork looking for transgender experiences?  And to Lopaw and Hotplants...where are your preferences on this issue?
