No call - no show regional boards

As a follow-up to the thread below by Tired Of It, why can't regional No Call - No Show boards be established here at TER?

No call - no show or flaking is talked about on the national as well as the regional boards all the time and it is a widespread and constant problem. Yet we can't seem to find a solution of quickly identifying which providers are doing this on a regular basis. Here at TER, we have regional discussion boards and regional review boards so why not have regional No Show - No Call boards as a means of identifying those providers who exhibit this habit on a regular basis. Sure would be helpful to those of us traveling and making arrangements out of town. If a provider in the area I am traveling to was being identified on a No Call - No Show board as flaking with some regularity, I sure wouldn't be looking to schedule an appointement with her.

Either that, or a no show index that shows up as part of the profile.  3 indexes:  Appearance / performance / no-show risk.

It's really a bummer when you plan an event while you're on the road, only to find she's a no show.

…but how do you monitor such a place from being manipulated?
I would imagine Staff has their hands full just keeping phony reviews off this site. Even a great scoring review, that states false information about services the provider doesn’t provide, can do damage in one-way or another.  How much damage could a board like this do?

It takes a great deal of effort for anyone to create a respectable reputation in any service orientated business, and only one disgruntled client (for whatever reason right or wrong), or even a competitive provider, to tear it down.

Seems to me, to much power would be given to any one with the capability to create an alias, to effect the livelihood of any of the women here…

Well unfortuantely we don't live in a perfect world and just about anything that gets created is most probably subject to some misuse and/or manipulation by those that have such an intention. The best we can do is to limit that as much as possible.

I really don't see this as being a whole lot different than the current system we have for reviews which we know get manipulated and misused from time to time. Think that some of the current rules that apply there should be follwed here, most notably, you can't submit a No Show - No Call report under an alias.

Think most of the guys here are prudent enough to not judge or make decisions based on a singular report of something. I know I review ALL the information which at times may have one or a few negative reports or comments before making a decision about what I want to do. I haven't been blown off yet by a few negative statement when, in the main, the reports overall present a good picture. Don't think a singular or a limited number of No Show - No Call reports would cause many from proceeding but if there were numerous reports about this kind of behavior on the part of a singular provider, then that should be a clear and certain red flag.

The current TER process is the best I have found to date even if it isn't "fool proof" in its current form. Not sure you can ever get to a sytem that can't "be beat" if someone really has a need to do that.

Hey shit happens!! (i.e., kids, s/o's, etc...)
Are you talking about regulation of providers?
You can't regulate what you can't legislate?? ;)

What a fun web site you have. My congratulations.

No, I most certainly wouldn't have the audacity or be fool hardy enough to try to regulate any of you. That is not my intention or suggestion here. I think most of us understand and accept that sh#% happens from time to time and that is just the way life is. The need to change or cancel appointments happens all the time.

What I am trying to address here and the thing that is most frustrating to hobbyists IMHO is when a provider schedules appointments and then just doesn't keep them. No phone call - no nothing to alert the gentleman to the changing circumstances. I can understand and accept this happening on occasion with any provider because, as you say, "sh#% happened" and she couldn't make a call in a timely fashion.

But, unfortunately, there are some providers out there who seem to do this on a regular and consistent basis and at the current time, we have no easy way of identifying who those providers are. Also unfortunately, IMHO, there seem to be an ever increasing number of these.

Considering some of the other posts I have read over time let me also acknowledge here that there are some hobbyists who are guilty of the same thing.

Well, I for one, and I am sure there are many others, appreciate your alertness to this issue and applaud and support your efforts to bring a solution to it.

My only hope now is that it happens in my lifetime.  LOL
