I was pretty tempted to use an alias here, but what the hell, you only live once, you might as well do it blushing.

In my limited experience, I've come up with a truly enlightening revelation.

The experience has very little to do with the tool, and almost everything to do with the personal relationship you have with the provider in question.

Conventional wisdom would say that, if it's something you're interested in sampling once out of curiosity, you'd try it with someone you don't know and probably wouldn't see again, maybe a traveler...  You're so sure that she'll laugh at you or think less of you that it's better that it just go away afterwards.

But in reality, it is a completely pointless waste of time in that setting.  So much of the experience is in the trust--in revealing yourself and making yourself vulnerable to a provider you know and really like.  In return, she respects the gesture of your trust...  Despite your fears, she gives you that look, that smile that is so accepting.  Something so inately uncomfortable outside your relationship is so completely comfortable inside your relationship...  The very definition of intimacy.

The revelation really has to do with our own male insecurity about our packaged goods...  We never believe women when they say sex isn't about the tool, it's about intimacy.  But when the roles are reversed, it becomes so obvious how true that is.
