TER General Board

No, but I value both learning from and helping others.

Providers, do you have a young lady that you are showing the ropes?  Some innocent young thing lost in this great big world.  Or do you follow the ways of some grand master provider with a hint of silver fox in the pubes?

Hobbyists, do you have a wet-behind-the-ears guy that you are sheparding as the big brother?  Or are you learning from a silver-back alpha male with a pimp slapping hand?

Don't be afraid.

but they are young ladies who are learning how to properly express their submission to me. I enjoy training a lady who realizes that she needs a dominant lover but who has not yet been exposed to the strictures and requirements of others. Tabula Rasa.

but there are several guys here whose opinions I value greatly. Some just from what they've taught me through their posts, and some have given me advice privately, through PM's and email. I consider them all good friends, even the ones I haven't met.

No apprentices, but one very good friend who just hasn't taken the plunge yet. When he's ready, he will.

I have taken a few under my wing. I actually enjoy being asked for advice, and of course giving it.
I had one guy, quite a while back who was scared shitless. He was a member here, but like I was early on, just lurked. I set him up with his first several dates.
He rarely hobbies now, as he found a cutie to call his own, but to this day, we remain friends.
This is a good topic, HD.

Seriously, there were a couple of guys on TER who showed me the appropriate style... and a couple of ladies as well - they were in a league of their own... sadly - all have disappeared...

One was someone who posted something that struck a chord with me. Caused me to sign up just to PM him, before I took the plunge into the hobby. Been corresponding with him on occasion since.

The other is a lady who is showing me the ropes.

There are countless other people whose opinions on various issues I respect and I can just learn from reading their posts.

No mentors...I am the Master of my Domain. But seriously, even without specific mentors, there is much to be learned by lurking and/or participating here and I have learned a lot.

About 5 years ago, I was about the 3rd reviewer of my current ATF.  I called her a "diamond in the rough" at that time.  Well, today she has blossomed into a very accomplished provider, my ATF, and (I'm willing to bet) a mentor to at least one of the posters above.  And she & I now mentor each other even with our "senior" status...

And BTW - I've re-reviewed her since then in case you are looking at my review log...

Since I don't want to end up following in anyone's footsteps and very much lean toward the fiercely independent side, I don't consider anyone a mentor. I have certainly learned a lot from other ladies since starting in this business, but most of it has been through reading and my own research. I've been lucky enough to come across many women who set excellent examples.

I would be uncomfortable being a mentor to anyone as well. While I feel competent and confident enough in my knowledge to give advice, I would dislike the feeling of responsibility that can come with having an apprentice. I'm very hesitant to form bonds with anyone (in both this and my personal life, really).

Besides, the last apprentice I had flooded my basement and made the brooms rebel. Never again!
