The fact is that in the U.S. (I am originally from Europe) I always detect a stigma with age differenece in the Civvie world of dating, unlike I have seen in the other parts of the world. If older guys (I'm 45 and physically speaking, I can now run circles around myself as compared to when I was 35!) who are in 40+ age range dare to join one of these cr*p civvie dating websites, they soon get a very rude awakening as to how very plain and average looking women who are barely a 6, come across as so darn demanding (putting up false high walls) when it comes to desired age in their perspective romance and dating partners. Mind you, there are many people in their 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's and beyond who do not take care of themselves at all, in terms of physically, emotionally, spiritually, financially, etc. I think that it a cultural influence factor and the cr*p which runs in the mainstream media and female magazines, when it comes to the age difference stigma, unless one is a Darling like a Hugh Heffner!
In the Hobby world, the factors are quite different and if the mainstream Media wishes to call it exploitation or what not, let them beat that horse to death! On Alt.com where I cruise sometimes they've got compatibility charts that compare you and the person whose profile you're visiting. I continually find green check marks showing I'm compatible with women in every area, but then comes the dreaded red X next to "age." How dumb. As I've gotten older, my clients have gotten younger and better looking. Go figure. Guess that they're looking for something different. VERY different. And with that, I used to have the same "what in the hell and I doing" feelings when I was boinking someone in his early 20's.
