I would never have seen your post if you'd limited its exposure to P&R. Thanks for that.

FWIW, I have an uncle who will be 103 in May. Yes, one hundred three years old, he was born in 1905. His wife was born sometime between 1908 and 1911, we aren't really sure. She simply no longer remembers.
They were married in 1934, were separated during the Holocaust, both survived and found each other after the war, and have been inseparable since they were reunited in 1946. At their last Passover Seder, then enjoyed the company of all their living offspring and their own families, including 4 great great great grandchildren.
Thank you for reminding me of some extraordinary people. Now you know of three couples :)

it has been in interesting week, here in my home country...

A man who would be president... and he goes to a church where the minister preaches that it is ok to hate someone - based upon the color of their skin.

A woman who would be president... and she stands by a man who cheated her - because to stand by him was a conduit to her own power... or so she thought... and so it seemed...

A soldier who would be president... who was tortured- but who fails to see an invading army come across his border...

and then a state that made and played by its own rules... only to be told that because others did not like the result, they were DQ'ed...

then the govenor who because he was "lonely" sought the embrace of a woman who sold her time... yea.... "this ad is not an offer of sex for monetary compensation...."  right.

but the one that I do actully have compassion for ?  the girl.  Attractive, young and probably was - at one time - someone's sweetheart in high school....

why the compassion for her... because I thought that you fell in love... and together you faced the world - and all its woes... and that union made it all better and sweeter when you won...

seems that was the path for none of the above...  myself included.

so I pay my $... and I fantasize... and I know it is a fantasy for almost all.... it is very rare that it is a reality - I actually know only 2 couples that for certain - it was a reality... and in both instances - they went the distance...

.. those 2 couples probably just have you fooled.  Nobody has reality for certain.

BTW - you left out Nadar.

in both instances... and with their mate when they died... and the last to go - never even dated....  kinda sweet....  Nadar???  never met him!

You know this post belongs on the P&R board. Just because you throw all that flowery, touchy-feely stuff toward the end, you think you can slip it in here?

Just kidding. I couldn't resist. These words actualy have a certain meter and beat that made them very enjoyable. Thank you.

BTW, I believe that that the high school sweetheart in the drama is soon going to strike it rich (relatively) by cashing in on her 15 minutes of fame.

consoling a young lady Stripper friend... who's dad just died... and she is now finding it harder and harder to entice the young men to have a lap dance with her... and even though she is one of the hottest MILFs I know... yea... those  young bucks only like the hot new chicks...

so if this gal can make enough to invest... more power to her... and if we are all lucky - maybe she will continue to provide... heck... I like her look.. but only for her pleasure...  I do wish her well.

Very soulful, what a nice late day commentary.  Our human situation is so complicated.  Always good to stop, breath and take stock of where we are.

I downloaded her song not so much because it was good not my cup of tea really, but she could use the $$ so I thought, why not. I can help her out. Thats the "power of the people".

it does seem that the easier we make it to live... the harder it gets to be able to live.

you are missed on the P&R board.

Somewhere in London there is an elderly woman named Florence who stayed at her husband's side until he died at 105 in their 80 year marriage..

In Rhode Island, there is a couple after 82 years of marriage still in love, and as he says, "I still find her fetching".

In Taiwan, him 103, her 102, with the longest marriage documented...90 years.

Love is not in recession, the heart is...
I guess thats why I escape to television romance movies..love seems to be a thing of the past..1900's to be exact :-(

Such a good thread BSD.... :-)

This couple is so adorable...
