444 was right: there are better techniques out there now that render the vertical scar "old school" for a nipple lift.  For a reduction, the extra fat adn skin have to be taken out, and hence there will be a vertical (called anchor, in most cases) scar.  But for a nipple lift, a good surgeon will typically cut along the edge of the areola, cut a crescent of skin from the top, and reattach the nipple.  It lifts the nipple above the fold of the breast (like a younger breast is; the nipple drops below as a woman ages).
