I always choose a masseuse who has been working there for awhile. The new girls seem to be afraid of losing their job and are strict about following the rules. The new girls will eventually feel the pressure of not making enough money and realize that offering "specials" is what will make them better tips. Typically if she has been working there for a year or more, she has heard it all and has probably given a handful of HEs (no pun intended!). You might have luck with a new girl (I never tried), but it's usually a surefire thing with the veterans. Veteran does not mean old and unattractive. Plus, do you really want a HE from an unattractive masseuse?
After choosing the "right" masseuse, you have to open yourself up to her and make her feel comfortable. If a guy just lays there and gets a massage without talking, he's not going to get a HE. Never directly ask or imply for one. Having and sustaining a woody while you're draped and on your back definitely helps, but never speak about it, point it out, or ask her to "help you out" with it. They are taught and trained to just ignore it. Try to keep the conversation going from the start to the finish. Talk about her, talk about yourself, find things in common, ask her about her experience and why she chose to get into massage, etc. If she starts opening up and volunteering information about herself, it's a sign that she's comfortable with you (this also applies in the hobby world). There really is no secret other than getting her to voluntarily do it, since it's tacky to imply. Make her feel good about herself, compliment her, and make her laugh and smile. I'd like to believe that they all gave me a HE because they liked me, but part of it could have been to get me to stop talking!
As for my success rate, I guess you could say 100% (thankfully) if you don't count the repeats it took before getting one. I might just be lucky and 100% is not typical. I don't always get HEs on the first visit, but I always get one on the second. However, one time it took a third visit before I was ready to call it quits. My justification for going back a third time was because her massages were great, and not because I was stubborn about pursuing a HE (why the effort if we can always book with a provider?). If after the third visit you still don't get a HE from the masseuse, it's time to move on and hopefully your investment was not more than what it would have cost if you saw a provider.
Keep in mind that some legit masseuses will NEVER, for whatever reason, give a HE no matter how much you offer them or how many times you repeat. Fortunately, I have never encountered this kind of masseuse. If she has a serious look on her face and looks grumpy, avoid her! If she's young, bubbly, and smiles, there's a good chance the HE will happen; if not on the first visit, then the second or third.
