need help fellas: i have for several years felt burning in my urine, have ejaculated sort of like a gel, also ejaculated yellow in color, have had itching in scrotom area,(am guessing from whenever i masturbate, and don't wash up right away)sometimes it hurts to ejaculate, but not very often.I have been to urologist, and have had cultures, blood work,a scope down my urethra(forget the name hurt like hell)and still no prognosis.i was told i had stricture and for lack of a better term was streched out, have felt some relief in urinating, but still i have all the other ejaculate problems.I should add that my dr.wants me to have a test for diabetes, and a systolic test for syphilis.Guy s i would truly appreciate any help in this matter, and i would'nt think of seeking help anywhere but this site.thank you.

At this point, go along with your urologist and have the tests that are being recommended.  If you still do not get a definite diagnosis, then look into another urologist.  You could probably check the U.S. News and World Report annual ratings of medical clinics.  The top urological clinic in the world, according to these ratings for the last 5 or 6 years has been the urological clinic at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore.  I don't know where you live or how your medical coverage works, but Hopkins is damn sure worth the walk.
Best of luck,
BD

I will PM you in greater detail, but for the general forum, the color of your ejaculation and the itching are also indicative of liver problems. Have them check your liver enzyme levels. Have you ever had any form of Hepatitis?

Have you been tested spcifically for Chlamydia infection? Have you been treated empirically or otherwise for non-gonoccocal (not gonorrhea) urethral infection? (The recommended treatment regimens for Non-Gonoccal Urethritis and chlamydial urethritis are the same as for cervicitis in women. Azithromycin (1 g PO as a single dose) and doxycycline (100 mg PO BID for 7 days) are the treatments of choice)

If you have been tested/treated, has you regular sexual partner also been tested/treated? Reinfection is common with this problem.

Have you been treated for trichomonas? Here is an excerpt from the CDC regarding recurrent NGU (non-gonococcal urethritis):
"...In cases where NGU recurs, treatment with the initial regimen should be repeated if medication compliance cannot be assured or reexposure to an infected partner cannot be excluded. If these explanations for treatment failure can be ruled out, consideration should be given to empiric treatment for Trichomonas. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines for the treatment of STD recommend metronidazole (2 g PO as a single dose) plus 7 days of erythromycin base (500 mg PO QID) or erythromycin ethylsuccinate (800 mg PO QID) for recurrent NGU..."

Some cases of non-gonococcal urethritis will result in chronic prostatitis which can be difficult to treat.  A Chlamydia antigen test is better at diagnosing this condition that cultures, and that test is not yet commonly performed in the U.S.

Hope this info helps.

I'm certainly not a doctor but have been diabetic for over 10 years and never had any of the symptoms you mention. Follow your docs advice and if you're not satisfied get a second opinion

I recommend amputation.  Just kidding.  Seriously, I hope you're able to find a treatment that works.  Hang in there buddy.
