There's a new movie (haven't seen it) called the Black Book in which girlfriend finds boyfriends's electronic organizer including photos and contacts some of the player guy's "contacts".
Interesting concept -but to some of us I imagine it might touch a little too close to home.
As discretion is so critical to the hobby, just wonder: -has anyone faced this problem and want to tell us about it? -suggestions on how to protect yourself from this happening? -does anyone find this subject amusing?
Just got me curious if my reaction was jaded by my experiences in the world we live in here on TER. Rick2
I have not seen the movie but I have an electronic organizer and I keep my contact information in it. I have a program that is password protected and is the information is somewhat hidden.
All of the information I have on providers is password protected and hidden on my PDA.My PDA is also password protected so as soon as you turn it on, it requires a password.
There is a password lock function on it as well (locks each time you turn it off, or locks at a particular time). With the Tungsten C (the one in the movie ads), the thumbboard makes for easy password entry. Also you can mark items Private, so you have to type a password to see the actual entry.
Not only do I password protect my info, on my palm pilot, but I code it, so phone numbers won't work and names are changed to protect the guilty. EOM. Bob
