"Within the English-speaking world, association football is now usually called football in the United Kingdom, and mainly soccer in Canada and the United States. Other countries, such as Australia, Ireland and New Zealand, may use either or both terms interchangeably."

We spent a couple of centuries trying to mind our own business.

Unfortunately we kept getting dragged back into the craphole situations that Europe, and ESPECIALLY, Britain created.

So before you go complaining about what Americans think or do look in a mirror.

P.S. History is amazing!  All of the major problems throughout the last 150 years around the world ALL stem from Europe.

I know you said some but you don't know American history very well.  We prefer to take care of our own idiots.  WWII started in 1939 (earlier according to some) and America did not get involved until December of 1941.  Isolationism was that strong.

I like soccer.  I find it stupid to say you HATE a sport, any sport.  
In the US many people say they hate the sport. They might not like or care about other sport. But they hate soccer.
I was going to watch the WC. But after how Brazil won that game. I'm done with it. Soccer fans will tell you is part of the game to sell fouls and gain penalty kicks. But being the opening game ah, nah.
Besides that I hate team Brazil. So that's it. I don't care anymore.  
I'll rather watch WWE. It's more real.

Those soccor men can run rings around the NFL players in fitness. You try running for two 45 minute halves. And football is like watching freaking paint dry with all the stop start bullshit. I almost died when I found out how long a NFL game is supposed to last and how long it is dragged on for.  

And real men play rugby, no padding or helmets like the babies in the NFL use. National FooFoo League I call it.
