I was thinking about taking someone with me to a sporting event. I have already booked a hotel across the street from the arena. Its a .5 mile walk. Come out of the arena, thru the parking lot and cross the street basically. The event starts at 7 and ends at 10. Id like 2 hours of time BCD. This date will be 5-6 hours total ending at midnight. I have never done anything like this before and am honestly clueless about how to set up meeting a companion for an event like this. I assume I should meet her early at the hotel and walk over there? Do you give 100% of the donation up front or half and half back at the room? Any information about your experiences with multi hour dates, or dates where you meet at a sporting event would be appreciated.

I say this because we have private lives as well. For that amount of time she needs to make sure that her schedule is clear. I think your plan is good and I hope you both have a very good time. Sounds like a blast!

For a 6 hour date, I don't really like nor accept that all the time is done in private.  

For a 6 hour date most of the time we attend dinner, cocktails, massage, event if the gentleman wants to attend one, going to a movie, a museum and check out an exposition, concert, etc.  

I live in DMV area and plenty of single / business people on weekends... and I notice that these type of encounters works for me.  

Discussed with her schedule, time etc.. and work with her on where to meet, what's your plan, what else you two can do. Its perfect that you make reservations close to the venue!!

If she has a preference. I can only speak for myself & the conversations I have had with other women but I do know many require a deposit for multi-hour dates. There are some that want a 20% deposit on every date. Others start taking deposits on dates that are over a certain time length (those deposits could be larger usually about 50%). If you do not want to worry about your patronage the day of, then sure give everything up front if you would like.  

In my experience, I would either suggest meeting in the hotel lobby & take it from there or just meet at the event at a designated location. When I met my client in London we flew into different terminals, met a designated location, & went from there.  

My suggestion is just work with her on this one. Find what works for both of you and makes you both feel safe & secure.

But the key is that I had already spent time with her in the past, behind closed doors.

My date went like this, she came to my room, we had some fun. She and I both got cleaned up and dressed, we went to the show, came back to my room for more fun.

It seems that yours may go slightly different, but it may behoove you to ask her what she is expecting, not knowing could cause an awkward situation, and since you are paying I'll assume you want to avoid awkward.

Seems like the best. While there, discretely provide her the full donation, inside a book you gift her or a card. She'll probably excuse herself to the restroom to count it. Don't let that put you off. She's just meeting you. For the first time? Or is she someone you've dated before?

Make sure you tell her it's a ways to walk and SUGGEST that she wear comfortable shoes.

I have often met for a music event, never for a sports event, but assume it's only different in terms of the nature of the crowd and the distance to walk. And something like a jazz set is about 45 minutes, finishing a drink maybe a full hour, so that's different. 3 hours is a long time, but if you're both good with that it should be fine.

If you haven't met before, this is a large time/donation investment with the risk that you might not like each other that much.

It is preferred that a multi-hour date is scheduled well in-advance, also.
