Film world lost 2 this week : Fine director Irvin Kershner who made the 1966 cult comedy classic " A Fine Madness" featuring Sean Connery, but, more importantly, he directed "The Empire Strikes Back", considered by Star Wars devotees ( including myself ) to be the best of the series & IMO , one of the top 10 sci-fi films ever. Also on that list, pictured below, is another sci-fi classic, featuring an actor that just passed away, who took a late career switch from serious acting to becoming a great movie deadpan comedian :

OK, here's the deal.  For the next 24 hours, conventional rules regarding acceptable topics will be (within reason) suspended.  After that, I'll be the topic Gestapo.  GaGambler's suggestion was to ask Admin for a Stupid Shit board, and I'll try but I doubt it will work.  So, don't be surprised if a lot of stuff that's been allowed isn't starting 24 hours and one second from now.

I'll admit it...I'm cranky.  It's a bad time of year for me, and personal events are compounding it.  No whining, but I'm not interested in bullshit.  Oh, and for those who would suggest that I need to get laid, I will freely admit that to be true, but I'm holding out for a particular event that's a couple weeks away.  In other words, expect me to get crankier before I get better.

I suggest everyone gets all the stupidness out of their system today, can you imagine how cranky LP will be after a couple of weeks of no pussy? I may be too scared to even log in. lmao

I have a couple of ideas on who is going to lead the charge. Suffice it to say, some people don't need amnesty day in order to post some really stupid shit.

was deleted the other day? My favorite scene from the movie "Airplane" (other than the big-chested blonde running in front of the camera) was when Julie Hagerty was giving a "tube job" to Otto the auto-pilot. Seriously, Nielsen had some incredibly funny roles and will be missed.

Bonus trivia:

The movie marked the debut of Robbie the Robot who would go on to greater fame and fortune in Lost in Space.

Times have been tough on Robbie since then, and reports are that he's been seen in an auto junkyard swilling Valvoline.
