That's too much like work (albeit POLICE work). Also, I guess it ruins their stats when they want to tell the local news that "crime is down."
The nerve of citizens reporting property crimes and thereby diverting police resources that could be much better spent surfing titilating escort and "TBD" websites or setting up honest providers for arrest, blackmail and free sex (during the course of the "investigation"/arrest)! Yeah, they're just "doing their job," but with a VERY selective eye and a LARGE degree of self-interest.
