If the conventional wisdom that many if not most hobbyists turn to the hobby on account of the wifey no longer being interested, then the business could take a real hit if this pill pans out.

Or, does the male desire to spread his seed overtake his wife's newfound desire?

This could be interesting.

Gals:  Just curious, would you be interested in the pill, or would that be just dumping more gasoline on your fires?

I'd say that such a pill, if it works, could solve some guys' problems of a "loveless" marriage.
For many other guys, that is not the reason they hobby- which goes to your alternative theory.

Btw, Don't hold your breath on this pill because it doesn't look good. But the question is still worthy.

It could open up the market for the gigolos. If the wife gets all horned up on women's Viagra,  who's to say she would turn to the old fat smelly hubby for relief?

I think the wife not being interested anymore is a cover used by many guys, when the real situation is that nobody want to go to his grave having had sex with 2, or 5 or 10 women only.  Especially when you get older and see very hot young women parading around, you want a taste of that.  If you don't admit to that desire, I say you don't have enough gusto for life.

Yes-I agree-In my own situation I simply like the variety-nothing better that having an attractive woman that you have never met before fondle your nut sack and all that goes with it-I mean like-what is better than that ??!!

.. the whole thing smells fishy to me. BTW, Bill Cosby has a hilarious joke about his search for Spanish Fly. Skipping the long story and cutting to the punch line he is in Spain where he is certain his long quest will finally end. He gets into a conversation with a local and when the guy realizes Cosby is an American he asks "Hey man, can you get me any American Fly".

...will be minimal.

The pill will have an affect on the lives of those couples who use us it, but I don't even know how many hobbyists are married.

I'll have to think about this some more before reaching any conclusion, but regarding the hobby as it relates to those in committed relationships, I wonder if "not putting out" isn't an unnecessary excuse for P4P.

When I was unhappy in a pair bond, the idea of shopping around for another relationship was far more present than the urge to just go get laid. Do married men who visit providers do so because they want to have a variety of partners discretely enough so as not to jeopardize the marriage? And does that imply that they want to stay with their wives? Just asking.

I'm aware that not only workies, but people in careers that they are fascinated with, find themselves in income-producing positions that they absolutely hate, but continue to labor at.

Do men really want to keep wives they are so unhappy with that they need to have sex on the sly so as not to offend?

The answers that readily come to mind confuse me somewhat.

Either way, if the wife gets horny more often, wouldn't that just mean more sex for the hobbyist?

Surely, the hobby is not the ONLY sex any of us get. It might the best. It might be the most exciting. It might be with women far more exotic than the women they married. But, do people really pay 300 to a grand or more every single time they have an intimate moment with a woman?

Like said, I need to think about this, but at this point I don't think that improving sex at home will make much of a dent in how much people have sex elsewhere. I'm not going to stop dining at fine restaurants just because I get better at cooking at home.

She doesn't see it as a problem.  She likes things as they are.  She'd never take it.  So I'd still be without.

(1) Despite a couple of comments above, quite a few of us have already said that we turned to the hobby after wives went through menopause and lost interest. For you youngsters out there, menopause comes earlier than you might think.

(2) Sounds like the Rx will be for pre-menopausal women.  Moreover, one common additional effect of menopause is that intercourse becomes painful; not sure this Rx will help with that:
"The drug would be specifically approved for premenopausal women with hypoactive sexual desire disorder, described as a lack of sexual appetite ......"

I had NEVER considered the hobby until the sex dried out at home. If my wife wife maintained the desire and interest in exploration that existed in the first 5 years, then I probably wouldn't be here as I'm still totally hot for my wife. Now that I'm here, I admit that it's hard to resist the variety.

That pill could make a difference in guys entering the hobby, but it won't do a damn thing about the fellas that are already here.

I love how you put it.  I love home cooking, but I like to eat out at a nice place once in a while.  And you can't worry about how many groceries the cost of a restaurant meal could have gotten you.

I am perfectly happy with my wife, and would be unhappy if she left me.  I also would be unhappy if I don't get some strange once in a while.  This way we're all happy, and I put out the garbage and do all the other chores with a smile on my face.  I mean, after all how put upon am I really, when I have an outlet on the side?

We all have our own reasons but I think the main one is that wifey is not putting out or even interested in any play what so ever. And yes guys do drool over good looking women and the temptation is too great. I do think the in the end though happy and sex filled marriages would put providers in the poor house.

My guess is that you chose the hobby as an outlet over starting up a civilian relationship not only to be discrete but also because you really want to continue growing your relationship with your wife with or without. Things change over time. Sounds like you have a healthy attitude toward both the hobby and marriage. Probably most men do.

that last 40 years may exist, but there aren't nearly enough of them.  That pill is also aimed at pre-menopausal women, so guys older than 40-45 may see the home fires flickering out anyway.  And isn't that the main population of hobbyists?

You realize there are providers in menopause? Uh yah. No offense, but after even five years, I would get bored fkin the same guy too... especially if he gained 40 lbs. and stopped shaving his balls.

Honey, I have talked to plenty of wives who don't want to fk their husbands, and menopause is what many tell them. Is that true in your case? Maybe, maybe not, but it appears that women are not the only naive ones lol. I find it hilarious that you can sit here and brag about fkin around on your wife but the thought of her not wanting to fk you, is so out there.

I never had many complaints about the guys I saw my last 2 years of being in this business, so why would I be bitter? I did not have to slum it, kiss ass, or fk for cheap every day to retire from this business, and I LIKED the guys I met from here. Bitter? Nope, just honest.  Why is it ok for MEN to get bored with the same ass, and a woman can't? Stupid.

I have always said I could not stay with the same person day in and day out... nothing new, which is why I am NOT married again.

A husband who defaults to “my wife is not interested” (while, very possibly, completely disregarding why she’s not interested), will need to find another justification for doing what he really wants to do (and will keep doing) anyway if wife starts to take F-iagra.

And, a wife who is using perimenopause/menopuase to justify her lack of sexual interest, when the real reason is that she has as little interest in fucking him, as he her, may have to start justifying why she doesn’t want to take F-iagra.

Then, husbands and wives would have to start being more honest about the actual source of sexual discord in their marriage.

I’m not sure the fabric of society could withstand  the pressure.

(Personally, I have no interest in a libido pill. But I suspect many do. And, it's about damned time some effort is put into this for women

My only point was that there are providers in menopause so there must be SOME motivation to fk. Could it be the envelope? I am aware that menopause affects different women in different ways, pain being a side effect in some cases, but I am also aware that if hookers can get through that pain for money, so can other women.

Would I do it? Hell no... I am a P*ssy when it comes to any type of pain, but if I could not fk my husband, I would leave or let him see someone else. After 25 years of marriage, I simply would not care where he put his d*ck, as long as I did not have to deal with it lol. Again, this is why I am not married.
