Busted after the fact

Is it possible for LE to bust you just because you are on a provider's or agency's contact list?  I started stressing about this last night and wondered if one day my happy peaceful homelife would be suddenly interrupted by a detective showing up at my door, leading me away in cuffs (with my wife and children watching).  Probably a stupid question, but just wanted to know.

I can only answer for NY. Police can only bust you for a misdemeanor(which patronizing a prostitutes is)if it is committed in their presence. Otherwise a complainant must go to the DA. Since there is unlikely to be a complainant in such a case, the there's little chance of an arrest. As far as your name being in an escorts list, anyone can put it there, and for any number of reasons. (who know, you might be the pizza delivery guy) so that, too, is unlikely to be a concern. Of course, resourceful blackmailers, in LE or out of it, might find a use for that list!

what happened last summer.  LE may not be able to make charges stick or get a conviction, but they can sure give you a pile of grief.

I regret to say that I don't recall what happened last summer. Either way, I would not lose any sleep over it. Personally, I prefer to see providers who do not require my life story in order to see me. You may want to start doing the same.

...Le can f*ck you.  They may not lead you away in handcuffs in front of your family, but they can embarrass you in other ways to try and get a statement out of you.

Extortion is legal if you're LE.

a good attorney can nip that in the bud

suggest you tape conversations if you feel extorted by LE.  could come in handy

...LE insinuating that the wife or boss might find out about your activities if you're a poor sport and refuse to cooperate with them in their investigation.

They tried that shit with me once, but I just told them (in a nice, respectful way) that I wasn't going to rat out anyone for them.  One of the pricks even pretended to talk to my wife on my cell phone, but I still wouldn't budge.

That's the kind of extortion I mean.

BTW, taping conversations on your own can be risky, expecially if done without all parties' consent.  I wouldn't recommend that.
