departures from this planet... me?  I am saddened by those I know more... Certainly over the past couple of years, it seems that the character with they scythe takes more of my friends... that and the process of decreasing time with which to become famous, wealthy or powerful...

Recently I had the occasion to bump into an old friend... who asked 'what have you done with your life...?'  I have a good response to that - but I have failures as well... well, stopping to take inventory of those who have gone before - and measuring your life with the completed yardstick of theirs is not a bad idea...  and most days, I do feel pretty good about it... not bad for an aging superhero... but then again... I think that anyone who takes care of business, and does his friends solids is pretty much a superhero...  and many are.

But look to the board, I for one will miss the presence of Hyabby - a true gentleman who joined his lady this year.

He gave me my first job, became a father figure as well and helped me get sober 25 years ago.  Yes personal relationships are the most important but still there are many on this list that worked harder than most to gain far far more than just celebrity. . .  Randy Pausch, William F. Buckley Jr., Studs Terkel, and even George Carlin. Their lifetime of effort deserves recognition at some level.

My best friend (52 y/o )died of lung cancer this yr.If you can hear me up there,Luv and miss you,Bobby"

...doesn't it seem kind of creepy to list all the famous dead folks at the end of the year? Plus there's a few names I don't even recognize.

This week between Christmas and New Years should be put to better use other than to spotlight "The Year in Review"...like everyone should have the week off, except for essential services, to play and have fun... It's usually pretty unproductive anyway.
