What's the definition of a "client" vs. "hobbyists"?

I assume a hobbyist must look like a unicorn, because I've never seen one.

...a client is a definition for the rest of us is required. I gleaned from your assertion that if we need clarification on the difference we might be a client (as well as other statements) you think a hobbyist is preferred.  

To me a hobbyist is likely to be a "one and done" and plans to move on to the next conquest quickly.  In contrast, a client is looking for a long-term mutually-beneficial P4P relationship (for lack of a better term).

A hobbyist displays the good manners to extend his pinky finger during breast fondling.

I'm a true hobbyist in every sense of your meaning. I cherish every moment of every session, and take them seriously. I'm communicative. I always show up at the appointed place, and on time. I'm clean. I always bring the correct, whatever it is we're supposed to bring. I always plan my sessions ahead of time, not only so I can prepare myself physically, but also to savor the anticipation of being with a favorite lady. What's more, the session isn't all about me. I like being an attentive lover, and enjoy seeing the tell tale signs of pleasure. I try to be friendly, complimentary, flirtatious, and humorous. It's not hard to be humorous since there are so many wildly funny stories we can share. I am a connoisseur of beautiful women.

I do not see girls just to get off, ( ok well of course that's part of it) but to also get a great and hopefully exceptional experience. I mean hell I can get myself off if that's all I wanted lol.

After 11 yrs. of playing this game, it's more than just P4P.  It's difficult to explain in a response here...when I first forayed into this, I just wanted to get laid after a several year drought.  But it turned into more than that.  After my first foray, I kept in contact with her, and had a succession of meetings over the next year that brought us together in ways I never expected, and she eventually invited me into her inner circle. It's been an almost exponential expansion since then...so many new friendships made, and so many priceless experiences in NYC, NJ, Philadelphia, Vegas, Florida, DC, LA, someplace in New England I cannot mention directly, Chicago, and more, with a myriad of ladies and fellow hobbyists.    It'd been an experience of a lifetime, and it's more than just sex...though the sex has been off the charts when it happens, which is frequently.    

Also I don't think most people were mocking you. They truly wanted you to define what you thought was the difference between a hobbyist and a client.  

I'm not the Wham Bam Thank You Ma'am (as per your OP) kind of guy with providers (or any woman) but that doesn't somehow make me better than those who like that experience.  Everyone is different in what we seek from the hobby and in interactions with others. You're going to run into all types. What you can do is orient your advertising asd screening towards the type of client you prefer.

To use another metaphor:

A client is like a diner at a restaurant.  He may or may not care about the food, but is there basically to either fill his stomach and/or meet with someone (say for business).

A real lover of food however may or may not ever go to a restaurant, but eats as an aesthetic experience savoring each and every step of the meal including the preparation and even the aftermath of cleaning up, etc.

I know a few men who rarely or seldom engage as clients (They don't have a lot of $.), but enjoy the hobby lifestyle nevertheless, and are much appreciated by the providers they do know.

I count myself as a hobbyists, under your use of the term.  I just love the lifestyle and try to do what I can to enthuse  this view in whatever I do.

Well .....I think you are completely correct ....and may I say I enjoy the company of both the client and the hobbyists to a certain level however the hobbyists just give you a certain something to look forward too....your definition was on point xoxo

 A "client" is more of a business venture with none of the passion and pure joy associated with a hobby/pastime.

May I say bravo!!! Bravo!!!! So completely right....I couldn't have said it better myself. From what I hear it is getting quite bad out there and the age old question of what came first the chicken or the egg? I guess what we need to focus on isn't so much on what came first as much as how can we fix this. I know I hold my self to a high standard and I consider myself a lady first. I know that a few sour apples can ruin the bunch... Let me say I hear you and I know trust me I know what you mean. I am trying to communicate this because it is a real problem gents and ladies need to come correct... I know my reviews speak for themselves I try to bring a level of professionalism to ever session and I approach this like any other business with the customer in mind. My mission statement is to make sure no one leaves without a smile on their face... I take my sessions serious...so kudos to you that you think the same way xoxo

Any cursory research of the ever widening income disparity over the last 20 years may give clue to the answer.  
WAGES have graphed flatter than a pancake for the last ten years along with an all to common reduction in paid work hours. Conversely the investment class 1% has been laughing all the way to the bank.  
In 2002 $300/h was a common price point in LA for a well reviewed GFE with the most sought after divas commanding $400 to $500/h.  
Now in 2015 $500/h is the common price point with the divas pricing at $700 or more, and often along with a 2 hour minimum. If the pricing is above what 99% can regularly bear or justify then the supplier must simply be happy with 1% of the potential available market.  

I am a connoisseur who really wants to enjoy the experience and the fantasy involved? Not just the "wham bam thank you ma'am".... Maybe my expectations are too high, Or maybe others expectations are too low.  

All I see are providers.....What's up with that!!

So u limit yourself to a select few...instead of branching out?

1.  Why after "about two years" and recent increased efforts to further market have you no TER profile and subsequent/requisite review(s)? With none of the common research avenues(links) for a "hobbyist" to ascertain your region, prices, contact information and general bona-fida it's hard to vindicate your claims on a nation wide "General Discussion" board that strictly prohibits advertising.    

Sure, there is one big difference, I know that I am going to get my reward, and probably very soon after meeting, but to me it is the same as a date and I behave the same way I behave if I were single trying to hook-up with someone I found interesting.    I am not willing to put some effort in it, then I might as well use my hand and save myself the potential trouble
