What is the difference between a nuru and an oil massage?

I believe it's seaweed-based and evaporates after a bit if it's not renewed. Oil is, well, oil. Not seaweed based and does not evaporate.

Not sure she was asking about the difference in the substances, or the massage types. Since she said massage, I assume she meant massage types.

When I think of oil massage, I think of a lady standing over me while I am on a massage table. Most contact from her is using her hands, a little of her arms as well. The focus is on specific body parts, with the back getting the most attention.

When I think of nuru, I think of being on an inflatable mattress and her using her whole body against my whole body. Focus is on full body to body contact.

If either is being offered by a sex worker, she is most likely nude. The full body contact in this situation can be a big difference.

My Nuru provider told me there also is no "typical" Nuru... no "certified Nuru therapist"... so each provider can create their own version.  My provider is a CMT (I'm pretty sure) so she incorporates typical massage techniques into her Nuru, but also using her knees, elbows, hands, knuckles while sliding around your entire body in a very slippery gel.

And let me tell you this.  Her version is the bomb.  I mentioned in my review and on this board somewhere else that it's like intense physical therapy.  You are going to be hurt, but in a good way.

as the evaporation effect cools you off.

However, any other time, it can get way to chilly, even if you keep reapplying the warm gel.

Might be good for use in a sauna or steam room.

I'm hot by nature, so I don't mind the chill.  My provider does have heating pads under the surface, but I usually ask her to turn them down/off.

A good HVAC that keeps the room temp at the right level can solve the chilly problem.

Yes that's my take on it as well.
In my area nuru providers typically offer the service on a regular massage bed, using either coconut oil or something similar. They typically will start with a regular massage while nude, then oil themselves up and slide on your back while you're still on your tummy. Then they'll have you flip over, and slide on you some more before offering a handjob. Some will offer oral, that's pretty rare since most providers don't want to drink a gallon of that oil, lol
