Do the math on the Paul McCartney-Heather Mills divorce.
After 5 years of marriage, he paid her $49 million.

Assuming he was with her every night during their 5 year relationship (and being married men, we all know THAT doesn't happen), it ends up costing him $26,849 per sex act, not counting attorney's fees and court costs.

On the other hand, Elliot Spitzer's call girl Kristen charges $4,000 an hour.

But...

Had Paul McCartney employed Kristen for 5 years, he would've paid $7.3 million for an hour of sex every night for 5 years (a savings of $41+million).

A provider: No begging, no coaxing, never a headache, wide open menu, ability to put BOTH legs around you, no bitching and complaining or "to do" lists. Best of all, she leaves or you leave when you're done, and back the next day, ready for another round. All at 1/7th the cost, with no legal fees.* *

Conclusion: It's better to rent!

Why do you think escorts escort...for the very same premise ...for the guys to leave after and of course the dollars.

Conclusion: Giving it away just doesn't make sense.

The "Kristen charges $4,000 an hour" is a common misunderstanding.

In fact, the agency Spitzer used was paid $4300 by Spitzer for his infamous date.

But $1300 of that was a deposit for a subsequent appointment.

The remaining $3000 was for the 4 hour session he had with Kristen.
Of that, however, the agency took 50%.
That left Kristen with $1500 for 4 hours, or $350 per hour.  Not so outrageous as some make it out to be.

That said, your math about Paul M looks reasonable!  Except that he would have paid much less for Kristen than $7.3M - especially if he had cut the agency out of the loop.

You can pretty much twist statistics any way you want and I know this is really just meant to be humorous.  But if you really want to look at it seriously, there are a couple flaws.

Your math assumes the only thing the $49 million was for is sex acts.  If you take other things into account (like semi-intelligent conversation), I doubt that Kristen would have lasted 5 years.  That's just the impression I get from the interviews of her I've seen.  And I'm not saying all providers are like her.  In fact, I've met some very intelligent, charming providers.  Whew, did I back-pedal out of that one??

If Kristen had to perform for an hour every night for 5 years, I doubt she would keep the "no begging, no coaxing, never a headache..." attitude.  Of course, the great thing about hobbying is that you can find other "Kristens" for those off nights.

I'm sure Eliot Spitzer would argue that his date with Kristen has cost him a lot more than the $4000 he paid.  Besides costing him a lot of public embarrassment and his job as governor, his wife could still divorce him and he'd end up paying her too.

Isn't the point of marriage to be with someone you love, to make a life with your partner, whatever that life is?

In an hour a night you may find sexual fulfillment, but may miss out on much more companionship, the opportunity (if you desire it) to have children and have a family...

Sometimes when there's a bit of disparaging talk about the wives on these boards I wonder if these other things mean less in comparison to the sometimes absent sexual component.

I think that you can't put a price tag on sharing your life with someone and you can't necessarily break it down to a per hour base, though it provides a quick laugh for some of you boys.

That is why the Hobby is illegal (at least here in the U.S.) If the legal industry or government isn't getting (or can’t get) a big fat cut of the money exchanging hands the practice or enterprise is deemed immoral and criminal.

There are some of us, (I'm sure I'm not the only one) who have wonderful relationships with our wives. In my case, the ONLY thing missing is the sex, due to health issues. Nobody's fault, just the way it is. We both accept that, and share every other aspect of what we have together.
