'mailing list' confusionconfused_smile

I was sitting here eating breakfast and looking at a page full of provider ads.. Many had posted on their ads "Join my mailing list"..
When it dawned on me some of the post here that pass by from time to time about unsolicited emails from providers and what is proper etiquette in our relationships..

I have seen were you Gent get pretty ticked when  you get contact that was not requested and have read in provider forums that is low class to send these unsolicited contacts..

Yet so many offer 'mailing list' opt in and I have yet to see the REQUIRED opt out page for these list...
It is a no brainer when you fill out one of these fields you are requesting future contacts.
But how much is to much??

I have ran across a couple of provider sites that ask you to put in an email to access the site.. Guess what happens after that?? SPAM from them and lots of it... I guess they did not read the affiliate rules about spamming for dollars..

It does leave one in a bit of confusion when Guys and Gals alike state unsolicited messages are in bad form then to see so many mailing list opted ins with an opt out NOT available..

I have a web e-mail address that I use only (read ONLY) for this hobby!  and yes, I get about 100000000000000000 e-mails a day for viagra, AFF, Cialis, webcam sites.. you name it... but they ALL go to that site... BUT I use this site for traveling ladies who I like to drop me a line... (well in advance) so that I can plan to spend time with them.

No one has access to that e-mail account except me.... and as I say, if a traveling lady can drop me a line in advance - I can set aside time... (the e-mail is also handy for stripper acquaintences... and other nefarious activities...)  but the key is to NOT link the e-mail account to any other public address.... difficult to do.

I only open that account when I know it is safe... now - I am not married... but still feel the need to keep the worlds separate... for a variety of reasons (just ask my friend spitzer! Bwahahahaha! I still got it!)
