Have a Uniden and hate it.  Weak reception and just not good.
Had a Panasonic 2.4 Ghz (gigahertz or however you spell it) and it was great.
Wondering about Sony's cordless phones for the house.
Anyone know what brand is best?
Could not get into Consumer Reports to check as am not a member.

Indeed Panasonics are the best.

I just upgraded from an old AT&T 900MHz, which was having
battery recharge issues, to a Vtech 2.4GHz.  It works great.
The only issue (small) is that the handset is pretty small
so you get tired of holding it after a while.

You should really join Consumer Reports.  I subscribe to
the magazine and online.  It's something like $19.00 for
a year of online subscription (maybe slightly more if
you don't subscribe to the mag).  But I never buy anything,
escpecially electronics without checking them.  I think
of the thousands of dollars I've spent on my computer, TV,
stereo, camera, etc, and $19.00 is nothing compared to
the cost of these items.

I'm going to dive in a do research on a digital camera
next...

I'm using it with wireless network at home.  No static or noise.
2 recievers for $79.00 at costco.

Good luck

I've always had good luck with Panasonic and better with Uniden . AT&T I found to be featureless and overpriced, I decided to test a VTech 2.4 2 line, never again, numbers are too small to read, noisy, static, someone else picks up a line and it has a constant clicking sound, call waiting doesn't work, but it does have a great caller ID with call back feature.

Panasonic KX-TG2740 -- Clear as a bell, lots of features.

(Tried a VTech and it sucked... BIG TIME!)

Check out Siemens at the GoodGuys I have the 4215 model. The best phones I have ever owned or have ever seen.

The remotes are unuseable and the base set is very user unfriendly.  I complained to Siemens for months and the customer service rep finally admitted it wasn't a very good unit and they had a lot of pissed-off customers like me.

Checked The Cordless Review although never heard of it before.  Thanks!!!  Seems to have lots of great information in it.
Frankie2003:  If you find a great digital camera, where did you find the information on it?  I, too, am looking for a good one under $150, if possible.

Guess we all agree Uniden and Vtech suck.
