Woah! Before anyone goes out and tries this nifty "supplement" as an alternative to Vitamin V, please do some research and use some caution.

According to the article, the researcher says "since its not a drug it is safe for those with diabetes and high blood pressure". However, from the article it does not sound as though any clinical trials have been conducted to establish that claim.

This supplement IS in fact a drug. Any substance you put inside your body that has a physiologic effect is a drug, regardless of whether the substance is naturally ocurring, such as walnut extract, or whether it was created in a labratory.

The article describes the drug's effect as enlarging the blood vessels and enhancing blood flow to the penis. Well, that is essentially what Viagra, Levitra, and Cialis do. Without any clinical trials though, it has not been established that this supplement does not produce any of the side effects that these drugs that are known to produce. So there is no way to accurately claim that this drug is in fact safer than current ED drugs.

The article also states that the drug has been approved by the Malaysian health ministry, but I do not have the same confidence in the rigors of their standards that I have in the FDA (which isn't much) to require the same level of due dilligence in establishing the safety and efficacy of a drug. Since it is a supplement, this drug, when marketed here, will likely not be subject to the same standards that a pharamceutical drug would be.

So basically this drug may or may not include some or all of the dangerous side effects noted with other ED drugs. Furthermore, there is no way of knowing whether it does until you use it and find out. So gentelemen, please for you safety, proceed with caution if you decide to give this new wonder supplement a try, and as always, talk to your doctor first.

As a sufferer of ED, I tried one of those shots prescribed by my MD and ended up in the hospital to get it down.   The doctor gave me epinephrine, which caused my blood pressure to skyrocket.   My urologist had no experience with this and called for an emergency room doctor to come in and solve the problem.  Luckilly, my blood pressure returned to normal by the time the ER doc arrived.

Viagra may not be as good at keeping the erection, but I can enjoy myself without ending up in the ER
