When I first started to hobby I didn't have a cellphone. They were available, but I didn't want one because I didn't want wifey to track me down or keep tabs on me. At that time I did have internet, dial up. It was also pre TER. All I had was CL to locate providers and most of them gave me the exact location, including room # right over the phone.
It's just sort of funny to look back on those days versus what we have with today's technology. It sure has changed in the last 15 years.
It was the "yellow Pages" or the back-page Ads in local adult "rags" or just trolling for SWs. Plus back then no "GFE" by the hour. You paid for either a CBJ, or a CFS or "half and half". Once you popped you had to get your ass outta there. I don't miss those days.
A lot of you guys started long before I did where there weren't many options aside from the streets. I could just never bring myself to picking one of them up, and I was doing pretty well with civies.
uch better now, don't get me wrong. But back then there were actual bordellos. A house with a half dozen girls you could choose from while having a drink. A bit awkward at first but hey at least you could size them up in the flesh. No fake photo scams then. Once you were known you were in like Flint. Way less expensive also even adjusting inflation. Then again bbbj did not exist, let alone cim. Like I said, much better now.
My first agency was an ad in the damn newspaper of all places. I made 10-13k a month on that one ad that costed nearly 700 freaking dollars a damn month, with no screening other than a name and car visual lol. I operated a full blown brothel with 20-30 guys coming in and out, 5 days a week for 2 solid years, without ever being busted. I was in the so called "hottest" area of town, as well. I have learned a lot since then!!!
Dear Ms. Rayne: In addition to some good luck would you also say that you might of had some inside information as well? Although at that time you were certainly a ho that didn't know, I was wondering on your list of clientele were there any considerable white collar types? If so did anyone offer to educate you on the nuances of the law and when it was a good time to shut down or dial back your business? Looking back on your decisions now, how would you write a curriculum for the remediation of sex workers when they first go into business for themselves? I am sure that you would not do certain things that you did now. Thank you Ms. Rayne for being a wonderful faucet of information and insight on the business.
