A certain provider advertises a tour in my city a week from now. She asks for prebooking fee of 30%. She has a professionally looking website, X, Instagram and OnlyFans accounts. I couldn't find her on TER or her reviews anywhere. From her Tryst ad, "Although I’d love to come visit you in your city tour dates are strictly based on interest. If I do not receive enough prebooking's, I will have no choice but to cancel or postpone my dates." She may be legit, but perhaps her MO is to advertise a tour, ask for prebooking deposits and if she has enough customers, she will come to the city, provide service and everybody will be happy. If there aren't enough customers, she pockets the deposits, promises to apply them towards her rate the next time, that may never happen, and she is happy. Any advice?
It makes no sense to me to even consider this. The whole premise is based on the hope that several other clients will want to see her and will pony up the bullshit pre-book fee. Even if you can find credible reviews for her, they are irrelevant if other clients you don't know about and can't evaluate for reliability don't pay the fee as well. How many fees does she need to show up? How much time will she have for you if she gets boked enough to come? What happens if half the other guys cancel 1 day before she flies? That's not your fault but it will be your problem.
There is a huge list of available providers near you right here on TER. If you really want to see a "bucket list" provider from another city, find a reason to go there and see here while you are in town.
Don't get me wrong. This provider can and should run her business any way she wants. But we don't have to choose to spend our mongering dollars on her.
I know some are very anti deposit, so no matter the story, they will say no. I’m not anti deposit. I am low risk with deposits though. If she’s not reviewed well, reviewed recently, and reviewed by clients I feel are trustworthy, I’m not risking it. Your situation reeks of high risk. I wouldn’t do it.
And I don't mind paying a deposit at all...for the right girl. The woman you are referring to wouldn't come close to meeting my standards. I can't find any reviews anywhere? I'm out. A close friend hasn't recommended her? I'm out. . For me, deposits are for women who have earned that level of trust i.e. those with a long track record of handling them professionally and responsibly. . There are way too many women out there in this realm who meet my criteria for me to gamble on someone who falls well short of it. That said, I won't criticize her at all. As Herb stated, she gets to run her business however she sees fit, and if we don't like it, we can simply contact someone else who better meets our needs and risk tolerance.
unless they’ve been reviewed, do not give a deposit. i got burned by giving a deposit. there is no guarantees. you are suppose to trust them but they do not trust you?
Why would you trust her to apply it when it's never going to? If she's not getting enough pre-bookings, then she's definitely not going to tour again later in life. Why would you willingly give any unverified provider money? If she has no TER reviews is probably TGTBT.
