those of Matrix Reloaded. The kicks are more crisp and the action sequences more fun.

Cameron Diaz's fight (most of them are done by doubles) looks better than Keanu Reeves' fight with the guardian of Oracle (His action delivery looked slow and weak by comparison.)

Demi Moore looks streamingly hot (I guess after those hundred of thousands of plastic surgery fee, many ladies can look as hot.) but I noticed that the lighting on her throughout the movie is different compared to those of the 3 Angels.

Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu looked tired and old.  What happened to skin care, spa treatment and personal trainers?  Demi Moore put them both in shame.

I agree with you, it was a entertaining and fun movie. Ms. Moore and Ms. Diaz looked hot!  This one was actually better than the first.

Demi Moore was hooot but not enough to save this turkey.  I think they knew this was a turkey, that is why they made it so campy but Jeez, how can you rate this with Matrix or Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon?

a Chinese friend of mine was telling me how CTHD bombed in China, especially in Hong Kong where it was almost laughed at by critics. another example of how some cultures find American tastes ludicrous. although in this case, it was justified since apparently martial arts afficionados WOULD in fact laugh at Hollywood's take on this genre. the average American consumer of pulp cinema wouldn't know the first thing about intricate fighting (not that i would, but then i'm not a fan of these types of movies -- disclaimer: i also haven't seen either of the ANGELS movies)

btw, what Demi Moore knows about acting can be summarized on the back of her check, MHO

ones, lately isn't it?

Also Chinese martial arts films range from very well done to as campy as some of ours particularly the ones dubbed in English IMHO
Sweet Dreams

"lately" ... yes, definitely (or is it definately? ;)

Demi is a veritable "palate cleanser" of the mind's eye

her plastic surgeon deserves an Oscar for best special effects

and with that image (of her bikini-clad hard bod on a sunny beach, specially lit by her own company-contract lighting crew), i'm off to sleep, perchance to dream (where no reptiles shall roam)

ZZZzzz ...

emotional content and the independent spirit of Jen (Zhang Ziyi) and Shu-Lien (Michelle Yeoh), which were the reason why it is good enough to compete for the Academy Award fo Best Picture.  Most of the martial art movies those audience liked are devoid of genuine emotions.  They are only dazzled by special effects or slap-stick physical comedies.

till Matrix Revolution to be judged correctly.  After all, it is really the first half of the follow up of Matrix.

Charlie's Angels 2 is just a mindless, pure fun summer movie.  It has no lasting value except to entertain the audience for 2 hours.

My view might be a bit affected by the fact that I saw it on Friday night next to a super sexy female friend of mine.  Too bad she is just a good friend.

you take a "super sexy female friend" out to see a movie dripping with hot babes and you claim she's just a good friend?

i mean my god, wouldn't she get the hint? as in: "after dinner and this hot babelicious movie i wanna take you home and bang your brains out -- no hard feelings doll!" ;)

you Spectate too much my friend!  LOL

over the years.  After all, we have been friends for more than a decade since she was 18.  She is quite loose too, often has threesomes with her girlfriends.

Unfortunately, she is the best friend of my ex.  Besides, she only like very tall guys with big, long dicks. :-(  We knew too many things about each other (She knows I am a hobbyist and I know her wild sex life) to break through that friendship boundary.

For a short time last year when she broke off her relationship, there was a hint and opportunity for me.  She sort of suggested a threesome with me and a hot looking escort.  Too bad the escort cancelled the appointment at the last minute and the moment evaporated.  Now she is totally in love with her new French boyfriend and are talking about get marry soon.

Don't worry about me though, my friend.  Ever since she visits LA a couple of weeks ago, I have been hobbying with a vengence, even going out of town for a short hobbying trip.  So far 11 down and a half dozen more to go.

It was a bunch of sullen looking, overly dramatic people dressed in black who sounded like they were reading bad poetry, in other words, a college coffee house.

I would have to disagree with you Spec in regards to waiting until the 3rd installment  of Matrix comes out before you can judge the value of the second one.

I think you have to judge a movie on its own merits.  It has to be able to stand alone as a good film.

of a 5 to 6 hr sequel.  It is like a 2 1/2 hr part of a mini-series.  It would be incomplete or unfair to pass final judgment on Matrix Reloaded without seeing whether its reorientation of the story line from Matrix paid off in Matrix Revolution.

Much of the time and context in Matrix Reloaded was used to bring a closure to the prophesy idea first propagated in the original Matrix and lay the foundation of the reality/fantasy power of Neo in the real Zion world.  Whether this leads to a re-threading of old ideas like that in Total Recall (confusion about Reality and Dreams) or brought forward new ones like those in the original Matrix (human being enslaved to act as energy source for machines, the real world is actually a virtue world, etc.) will eventually determine how good the ground works laid in Matrix Reloaded are put together.
