Just saw this in Wally World the other day.  It looks like a good way to manage hobby funds.  Does anyone have firsthand knowledge of this?

Pros:
- easy to get...pick up a card at Walmart
- no paperwork mailed to your house...completely online
- it appears that you can provide "alternative" personal info (name and address)
- very few fees
- easy to recharge (cash at Walmart)

Looks like you could use it to pay for TER as well :)

Most of the credit cards you buy at the Walmart requires you to provide you legal name and social. Not that familiar American Express, but would not be surprise if this is information the require. Visa and MC does, so I don't see why American Express would be any different

You WILL have to provide personal information, including your SS#. Any re-loadable  debit card issued by one of the major players (Visa,MC,Amex, etc.), is going to require this due primarily to government "know your customer" laws.

Here's a mistake for you:

Sinking all your hobby money into some stupid credit card.

First off, you're going to pay fees. Second off, you're gonna look like an idiot having no cash and asking whether she takes credit cards. That plastic card is going to cut the hell out of your dick when you try to fuck it after she leaves and blacklists you for being a dumbass.

You can't even use AMEX for porn-it's one of their rules. So I really doubt you could use it here.

declined, because even though the fake SS# bypassed the initial signup process online, the application was reviewed before a permanent card could be sent out. And their temporary cards don't work for purchases outside of the US, so buying the card was a royal waste of time. live and learn

I only had one that I recall being able to fake, and purchases outside of the U.S. were all declined. Still, I paid for flights and hotels, and that was really all I needed. I just tossed the card after that, and got a new one. This was a straight up prepaid card though, not a credit card that you keep forever. Can't recall which one it was because I have used so many, but I want to say it was just a Mastercard I bought at Walgreens, then loaded it. I had to go online and put a name, address, etc. but no Social...did not require that.
