I find your story quite interesting.  I live in the Weir Canyon area, otherwise known as Anaheim Hills.  The area is fairly affluent with mostly young families.  Nothing ever happens in this area.  Local LE has a station near the intersection of Santa Ana Canyon Road and Weir Canyon, but they keep a low profile.  How LE would have singled you out is unclear.  I don't see how they would have identified you among all the other people in the area.  I also can't place the Jack-in-the-Box that you were at.  I am not trying to tell you that it is safe to come into this area or any area in OC...we all know the reputation OC has.  But if you exercise due care and do your due diligence you should be able to go where you want to.  Others work in OC, are careful and don't have problems.  Maybe NOSC might have some suggestions for you.  Good Luck and don't write OC off yet.  I hate the trip to Los Angeles to see someone. I leave the meeting with the lady all relaxed and free of stress and by the time I traverse the freeways and get back to OC all the good feelings are gone.

My best advice is to dress to the occasion and blend in with the other yuppies.  

I have never been harassed by the police like that.  I have been followed before, but I had not done anything so they went away.  Sometimes police follow hot looking girls just to look at them.  Presuming you are not doing anything wrong, you may want to challenge them a little and ask them what the f*(k they are doing taking your picture.  Don't let them push you around whenever they feel like it.  Act like a responsible citizen and question their conduct.

Of course if you did something wrong and you think they saw you, kiss their butt and hope for the best.
