can someone tell me if sex toys from the 80s or prior, are any different than the average sex toy today?

I read a review recently where someone make a comment about it, but i think he was just trying to emphasize the provider's age. while I thought the comment was rather sneaky and clever; it did make me think about it

saw one of these at an estate sale in rural MN

Years ago I went to estate sale to scrounge antique furniture and one of these was there on a table with kitchen utensils (with original mfg cardboard box) for $2. The box mentioned "reduces wrinkles, improves circulation, & promotes a healthy glow..."
