What do you tell the other people in your lives that don't know you are a hobbyist or provider?  How do you say you met?

Met online !! Doesnt everyone  meet "online" these days ?

How about something simple...

waiting in line for coffee
grocery store
gas station- you helped her pump gas in her tank
bar
park/ beach
the gym

so many places you could literally meet someone and if you're like me you actually do make new friends!

in a common interest group.

Nobody asked anything further than that.

It hasn't come up, but I'd tell them that she's a former student as I frequently visit with them.

and had been in a wide range of movies - and she was in a TV show that they were filming in front of the building that I work in! lol!  and we did actually see each other "on the set!" lol!  Alas, she moved to CA to further pursue her legit career!

I tell people my ex-(now retired) ATF and I met at work.  During her provider days, she was a student getting her degree with the goal of working in the same field as me.  Retired from providing when she landed her first job following school, so she is easily explainable.  Unfortunately, it meant she moved away too, but we still keep in touch and see each other when she comes out to visit family.

do know about my association with both ladies and guys in this realm...so I have no need to make up a story, but if any of my friends from this world would prefer it not be mentioned I would still tell the truth, "we met online"...which is how I have met most of my friends in recent years, both from this arena and others.

we met:

through a friend or business aquantance
online
the store
name any where or anything we have in common
wine tasting
the list goes on....

the "best" answer is the same one you both supply, regardless of how "good" or "bad" it might be.

So a little pre-planning can avoid any additional explainations.
