There used to be so many Canadians touring the U.S. in the mid 2000's. There were the agencies under elitecanadian, canadian-network, and they all provided wonderful ladies.

have remarked on other venues that they have been "recognized", detained at US borders and turned away. Not sure how they were "recognized" or if the tales are true at all.

Facial recognition tech is being used at borders. Advertising companies that were raided by the feds and ladies that show their face in ads elsewhere are being recognized, detained and sent back.
I know of 7 from a few different countries that it has happened to in the last year. Even if they are coming from countries that are decriminalized.
So, many are not bothering any more.

That sucks, but what else could one do?

Seems like some creative make-up ought to handle that.  Unless their real-life names are already in a database, in which case it isn't facial recognition, at least at the border.
